McLaren Introduces Its Sleek Elva Roadster

Unveiling the lightest road car in its history, McLaren introduces the new Elva roadster. The car features an open-cockpit design with no roof or side windows. The two-seater has a bespoke carbon fiber chassis and celebrates the 1960s McLaren Elva sports cars that were designed by Bruce McLaren. Additionally, the car contains one-of-a-kind carbon fiber seats and sintered carbon fiber brakes. The car includes two versions: one with a windshield and one without. By removing the windshield, roof and windows, McLaren wanted to offer a truly immersive experience. As open open-cockpit pair, McLaren’s Active Air Management System (AAMS) shelters passengers bymanipulating airflow while retaining the passengers’ connection to the elements. The McLaren Elva boasts a 4.0 liter twin-turboc...

Aston Martin Celebrates its New DBX SUV with Special Short Film

Aston Martin‘s new DBX SUV is a feat of British engineering, one that brings the power, speed and responsiveness of a sports car to the world of sport utility vehicles. To celebrate the DBX’s launch, Aston Martin has tapped Oscar-nominated Italian director Luca Guadagnino and assembled an all-star crew of British creatives for a short film that shows the car’s mixture of luxury and strength. Clocking in at exactly four minutes, the short film stars Josh O’Connor — recently seen playing Prince Charles in The Crown — and was art directed by legendary British tastemaker Peter Saville. The score was provided by Devonté Hynes, also known as Blood Orange. Filmed in Sicily, it shows O’Connor driving a “Minotaur Green” DBX with a light ivory interior, driving th...

All 112 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 Supercars Have Been Sold

All 112 units of the 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 have been sold. Priced at approximately $2.64 million USD each, substantially more than the Aventador S’ $400,000 USD price tag, many wealthy collectors were drawn to the supercar‘s 50th-anniversary status and relatively low production numbers. Packing the same 780hp 6.5-liter V12 + 34hp electric motor setup as the Sián FKP 37, the AWD Countach LPI 800-4 is roughly 23 percent more than the Sián. While many could argue exclusivity for the all-new Countach, at 112 examples, the Sián beats the Countach in this aspect as there were only 63 made. There’s just something about the Countach that continues to drive the automotive world crazy. It’s a supercar name that’s existed through numerous generations, and t...

Project Kahn Overhauls Mercedes-AMG G63 With “Carbon Wide Track Edition”

Another day, another customized Mercedes-AMG G63. This time around, the car’s been overhauled by Afzal Kahn‘s eponymously named Project Kahn (also referred to as Kahn Design), and the firm has given the G-Wagon quite the reworking indeed. Dubbed the “Carbon Wide Track Edition,” this G63 combines traditional elements of the square SUV while introducing new lightweight components for an even sportier edge. For example, this “Classic Grey” example is accentuated with widened front and rear wings, a carbon bonnet overlay, lower bumper spoiler, a new front grille, a duo of rear roof spoilers, and a roof shield, which come together to make the G63 stand out even more than it already does in stock mode. Alongside this, you’ll find 23″ Kahn “Ty...

Senators Urges FTC to Further Investigate Tesla’s Self-Driving Claims

Tesla might be facing yet another federal scrutiny for its Autopilot feature. Senators Ed Markey and Richard Blumenthal have reportedly called on the Federal Trade Commission to investigate Elon Musk‘s electric vehicles company over its “misleading advertising and marketing” of the Autopilot and Full Self-Driving Systems. In a statement posted to his Twitter account, Sen. Blumenthal noted that he has “serious concerns” over Tesla’s marketing messages. The letter to FTC chair Lina Khan reads, “Tesla and [CEO Elon] Musk’s repeated overstatements of their vehicle’s capabilities — despite clear and frequent warnings — demonstrate a deeply concerning disregard for the safety of those on the road and require real accountability. Their claims put Tesla dr...

The video starts off with a nice little history lesson on the supercar and then moves on to the various trims and how each one carried a signature design aspect. Applying those features to the new hybrid, TheSketchMonkey ends up making the biggest adjustments in the form of a larg...

Heritage Customs Crafts One-Off Land Rover Defender 110 P400e “Valiance”

Back in May, the Niels van Roij and Jan-Pieter Kroezen-co-helmed automotive design company Heritage Customs unveiled the “Valiance” — its rusted-out take on the new Land Rover Defender — and now it returns with a one-off, hand-built custom version designed exclusively for the Dutch presenter and actor Winston Gerschtanowitz. Based on the Defender 110 P400e (simply put, the five-door iteration with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a 105kW electric motor), the car is good for 398 HP and 472 lb-ft of torque, resulting in a 0-60 MPH time of 5.6 seconds. For this custom iteration, the powertrain and engine have not been fettled with, but plenty else inside and out has been — with no expense spared. Finished in a classy “Santorini Black” paint job, ...

You Can Now Order a Compact Camper Attachment for the Tesla Cybertruck

The Tesla Cybertruck may not be out until 2022, but prospective buyers are already investing in accessories for the electric pickup truck, including a $50,000 USD attachable compact camper developed by software and artificial intelligence company Stream It. The 1,200 lb (544 kg) CyberLandr transforms the Cybertruck into what’s essentially a sleek, high-tech RV and according to Business Insider, it’s already hit $80 million USD in pre-orders since its debut in April. Speaking to HYPEBEAST, Stream It CEO Lance King said he was inspired by the Cybertruck itself, which he called the “most capable vehicle ever created.” “It was simultaneously more economical than a compact car, more powerful than a muscle car, quicker than a sports car, more responsive than a supercar, more capable off-road tha...

Luxury American automotive company Lincoln knows how to pull off a concept car, and now it has unveiled the “Anniversary,” penned by the ArtCenter College of Design and revealed as part of Monterey Car Week‘s The Quail Motorsports Gathering. Hamann Fits the BMW X6 M With a Daring Wide Body Kit

BMW‘s X6 M is hardly a shrinking violet, weighing in at 5,209 lbs and packing a twin-turbo V8 under the hood, but this hasn’t stopped the tuning arm, Hamann, from developing its own take on the behemoth crossover SUV. By combining aerodynamic know-how with sporting undertones, Hamann has created an X6 M (F96) of a super-SUV owner’s dreams. On the front, we find a new lip spoiler that blends into the air intakes for a very aggressive stance, while as you work your way around the car, Hamann adds new side skirts, custom “Anniversary Evo” rims measuring 23″ front-and-rear (sitting 35mm lower for good measure), and at the rear, a new diffuser that houses a set of quad tailpipes. However, Hamann is not done just yet. Not one, not two, not three, but four R...

An Early Preview of the Ultra-Rare 2022 Bentley Mulliner Bacalar

As previewed earlier this spring, Bentley was able to present its highly limited and exquisitely produced Bacalar, created under the Mulliner monicker reserved for the U.K. brand’s coachbuilt vehicles. The Mulliner Bacalar Car Zero – a designation that denotes its prototype status – in Scarab green was one of six presentations by Bentley during Monterey Car Week 2021. Upon approaching, the Bentley Mulliner Bacalar speaks a similar design language to the Continental GTC – a butch, wide, curvaceous shell that is not only expansive width-wise, but length-wise as well. The details bespoke to the Bacalar, as a whole, give the drop-top grand tourer a level of style that commands attention in a shape not seen elsewhere, even within the Bentley brand. Beginning with the rear half, the Bacala...
