The Biden administration, a number of leading automakers and the United Auto Workers union on Thursday announced a new national target to make 40 to 50 percent of vehicles sold electric by 2030. President Biden will sign an executive order, putting the motion in effect to “strengthen American leadership on clean cars and trucks by accelerating innovation and manufacturing in the auto sector, bolstering the auto sector domestic supply chain, and growing auto jobs with good pay and benefits,” according to the White House. What’s rarer than a pristine 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 S by Bertone? A meticulously restored, bare metal example originally owned by a 19-year-old Iranian coed attending college at the University of California, Berkeley, in the ’70s — that’s what. This is exactly what you see above and it is due to go to auction with RM Sotheby’s later this month. B is for Build has completely stripped down the Lamborghini Huracan to its chassis and shell and added off-road bits including long-travel suspension, LS V8 engine, manual transmission, and massive off-road wheels to resemble something between the batmobile and a Mad Max desert buggy. Acura is sending off its iconic NSX supercar in style by releasing a new Type S version. Ending at the 2022 model, this last NSX will only be available in 350 examples with 300 of those going to the U.S. market. While it is assumed the new NSX will receive a bump in power and handling in line with its past Type S upgrades, no numbers have officially been revealed. From Acura’s video teaser, a few clues have been shown that reveal how this model has been enhanced cosmetically, with additions like a matte silver paint job, Type S badges, carbon fiber accents, a numbered plaque, and a red engine cover that’s reminiscent of Honda’s Type R performance line. Hennessey Performance has revealed the 2021 Hennessey Venom 1000 package for the Ford Shelby Mustang GT500. The Shelby GT500 is the Ford Mustang‘s top performance model with 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque generated from a 5.2-liter supercharged V8. The Venom 1000 package turns it up to 1,000 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque. The car features a flex-fuel tune and can run 900-horsepower on 93 octane pump gas, but performs its best on E85 fuel. Cosmetically, the car is given Venom and Hennessey exterior badges and serial numbered plaques indicating the magic that lies below the hood.
