3 Pairs of Spring Shoes Our Editors Swear Are as Comfy as Trainers

There’s no doubt that over the last year, many of us have spent more time walking than ever before. With nowhere to go and no one to see, the daily lap around the block or local park became an outing to look forward to and often the only opportunity we’d have to socialise. While this newfound obsession with getting in our 10,000 steps or adding to our kilometre count on Strava has of course been beneficial from a health perspective, it has also meant that we’ve spent much of the year in sneakers, and quite frankly, I’m ready for a change.  Therefore, Team Who What Wear set out to find some spring shoes that could work as an alternative to trainers, keeping in mind that many of our outings now include a commute on foot. Each editor selected a ...

8 Simple Spring Outfits That Look Timeless

The fashion pendulum is swinging heavily towards a more pared-down approach to dressing this season. Sure, the art of maximalism remains relevant, but there’s an overarching sense of bringing it back to the basics for spring with the evolution of wearable pieces throughout the S/S 21 collections (noting trends like reimagined trench coats and modern denim). And thus, the notion of a “make-under” enters the spotlight. I interpret a “make-under” as a concept that applies strictly to fashion with an emphasis on uncomplicated outfits that are easy to put together with simple, no-fuss pieces. Essentially, effortless and straightforward ensembles that can actually work within a range of people’s day-to-day life. Think classic crew-neck sweaters, stra...

The Throwback Bag Trend You Really Don’t Need to Spend a Lot On

If there’s one accessory that epitomises the ’90s, it’s surely the baguette bag. Just one glimpse at its teeny proportions and dainty shoulder strap will take you thundering down memory lane to a time when jeans were low-slung and crop-tops were in plentiful supply. For me, the trend has connotations of chick-flick heroines, glamazon girl-band members and, well, Regina George. As an accessory, it certainly had a particular ‘look’ attached to it. Met Gala Sets Dates for 2021 & 2022

The galas, a “more intimate” version Sept. 13 of this year and a larger one on May 2, 2022, will launch a two-part exhibition, a survey of American fashion to be on view for almost a year. “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” opening Sept. 18, will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the museum’s Costume Institute and “explore a modern vocabulary of American fashion,” the museum said. Part two, “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” will open in the museum’s popular American Wing period rooms on May 5, 2022, and will explore American fashion, with collaborations with film directors, by “presenting narratives that relate to the complex and layered histories of those spaces.” Both parts will close on Sept. 5, 2022. Filmmaker Melina Matsoukas (Queen & Slim) has been commissioned to crea...

5 Interior Trends We Can’t Stop Clicking on This Season

While our wardrobes experienced a cooling-off period over the course of 2020 and into 2021, our homes, and everything in them, have been working overtime—quite literally. Even for those of us who wouldn’t previously call ourselves interior fanatics, lockdown has inspired us to become experts in all aspects of homeware thanks to the increase in the time we’ve spent within our four walls. Invariably, this has caused a wave of new interior trends to flood social media, and of course, we’ve become adept at spotting these winning looks. The mood of the moment seems to point to a craving for colour and personality, from the sinuosity of Gustaf Westman’s wavy edge mirrors and the quirky appeal of rainbow gingham to Matilda Goad’s si...

I Usually Don’t Like Floral Perfumes, But These 15 Have Changed My Mind

I have shelves and shelves full of perfumes that I just can’t let go of. From ouds and musks to citruses and florals, I own a perfume for every occasion. And while I spent the best part of the past year trying to make my strong scents work in my new way of living, it was always niggling away in the back of my brain that there were a bunch of wildly unloved, but beautiful, perfumes collecting dust in my cabinets. And so, a few weeks ago, I finally accepted that my beloved woody scents had served their purpose, and it was time for the lighter, floral perfumes to take centre stage.  But that’s not to say I have totally changed my tune. Sure, I’m ready to embrace the uplifting, lightweight freshness of florals, but my perfumes of choice still need to possess a certain je ne sais quoi. The...

DMX’s 2003 Autobiography Returns to Bestsellers List After Rapper’s Death

Written by DMX alongside Smokey D. Fontaine, a former music editor at The Source, the book follows “The dark journey of a boy who became a man, the man who became an artist, and the artist who became an icon,” according to the publisher’s notes. “A talent for rhyme saved his life, but the demons and sins of his past continue to haunt him.” The book’s prologue opens with a quote from Friedrich Nietzsche, that now seems eerily foreboding: “To live is to suffer, but to survive is to find meaning in the suffering.” The accompanying chapters chronicle the rapper’s rise to fame, from his early days growing up in Yonkers, New York, to his record deal with Def Jam and creation of his first major label album, It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot...

Dark Academia Is the Latest Trend You’re Going to Hear a Lot About

Remember last year’s Cottagecore trend? Well, here comes fashion, ready to give us yet another trend with a questionable moniker. This time, it’s Dark Academia. While it absolutely sounds like a class that would be taught at Hogwarts, it’s actually much more about fashion than it sounds. The Dark Academia aesthetic takes its origins from Donna Tart’s novel The Secret History, and is, in essence, about wearing blazers and looking like you love reading. In recent years, and especially in 2021, it’s picked up speed thanks to Tik Tok. Over the past few months, the trend has been spiking on Google Trends with searches starting to go up in October 2020 and hitting a high in February this year.  From what I can gather, this look is all about a par...

4 Joyful Prints That Are Putting a Smile on My Face

If you’re a die-hard minimalist, you might want to look away now. Or, you know, maybe not. After all, we all need a bit of visual stimulation every now and then, and when it comes to the land of prints, it doesn’t get much more stimulating than this season’s graphic heavy hitters. This ain’t your usual line-up of ditsy florals and polka dots, because 2021 has brought in the big guns with everything from psychedelic swirls and trippy waves to geometric checkerboard. This is unashamed sensory overload, but one we are more than happy to embrace after a year of beige knits and slippers.  At the top of my wishlist is the checkerboard and the psychedelic swirl, both of which offer any outfit a personality-packed finish. I recently fell for a ...

This Serum Is Reversing My First Signs of Ageing—And You Can Get One for Free

Inspired by Kate’s in-clinic Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers, which are used to plump and lift skin, blur fine lines, and reduce the look of wrinkles, the KateCeuticals™ Firming Serum works to boost collagen production and oxygenate the skin for a smoother more luminous complexion. I’ve been busy testing out the KateCeuticals range, and I have to say that I’m incredibly impressed so far. First up, while appearances aren’t everything, this trio of products look so chic. The sleek grey packaging is a stylish addition to my bathroom, and the bottles and tub are just weighty enough to feel luxurious. As for the formulas themselves, the textures are beautiful—lightweight, non-greasy, and not at all cloying on the skin, like some anti-ageing products can be. I ...

Lesser-Known Beauty Brands I’m Certain Are Going to Big

Trust me—Forgo will be one of those brands that you’re going to start spotting on the bathroom sinks of all your chic friends. Yes, this Scandi brand are making hand soap stylish and, even better, sustainable too. It’s a really simple concept: purchase a starter kit containing the beautiful, reusable glass soap dispenser then add hot water to the powder soap provided to create your hand soap. “We can send 20 refills of hand wash in the same volume as one bottle of soap,’ Allon Libermann, Co-Founder of Forgo explains. “Plus, the powder formulation means the packaging can be paper.”  You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should be. It begins with giving y...
