In conjunction with the 2021 Easter Jeep Safari, Jeep is announcing a Jeep-branded EV charging network for its new 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid. The Jeep 4xe Charging Network, operated by Electrify America, will provide Level 2 (240-volt) charging that’ll fully recharge the 4xe’s 17 kilowatt-hour battery pack in about two hours. The chargers will be connected directly to the power grid or use solar power. A full charge allows for 21 miles of electric range, and with 49 MPGe Wrangler 4xe adventurers should be able to tackle more miles on the trail using electrons rather than dino juice. See all 36 photos Jeep 4xe Charging Network stations won’t be in the middle of the city. Rather, they’ll be installed at or near trailheads, ideal for a quick top-off be...
Breton stripes never go out of fashion. They are far too classic and essential an item to be relegated on a whim, but it’s true that they do go through moments where popularity surges and they become noticeably more on-trend than a season or moment before. Now is one such time. Everywhere I look, there are Breton stripes, and they’re being worn in such a variety of new ways that it’s the perfect time to gather inspiration. A nautical trend to spring fashion is like butter to bread—the two are so much more delicious together and are inextricably linked. Although a simple item, you will find that a well-chosen striped knit or tee is the kind of clever item you’ll pull out at this time every year without fail, making it an investment to no...
When it comes to gritty scrubs, most of the time, you get what you pay for. I have found that the more expensive the scrub, the more hard-working and unctuous the formula. Sure, more affordable options might smell great, but rarely do they have that all-important balance between nourishing creaminess and skin-shedding grit that higher-end formulas boast. The & Other Stories scrubs, however, have it all. They smell divine (as though the fragrance gods crafted them with their own hands), they serve up some serious skin-softening moisture, and most importantly, they really do deliver on the scrub front. On top of that, they’re not messy in any way (the formula holds its own and doesn’t slip around), they look chic on the shelf, and did I mention they cost less than £15? You Dese...
It’s been a long time since we were last at a fashion show, so you could forgive us for not remembering every little detail. However, back in 2020 there was one item that made a real lasting impact: Gucci’s new It bag. When Alessandro Michele presented his AW20 collection back in March last year, almost every look featured the iconic Jackie bag, which confirmed this bag was set to be the next cult accessory from the Italian fashion house. But it’s not going anywhere in 2021. Even for Gucci’s Resort this season, it seems that every other look includes the Jackie. If you recognise the name, then it’s probably because technically this bag isn’t new. The handbag was initially named after Jackie Kennedy and has been a hero Gucci item for years, but...
Between their trademark all-black outfits and seriously dramatic wedding guest ensembles, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen undoubtedly know what suits them when it comes to their wardrobe. The same can definitely be said of their beauty choices. From their perfectly tousled hair to their carefully smudged eyeliner, the twins have a classic-but-cool approach to both their hair and makeup routines. But what are the specific products that go into maintaining the Olsens’ signature beauty looks? The duo might be famously tight-lipped about the contents of their makeup bags, but (luckily) I’m always willing to play beauty editor detective in my quest to find out what products the A-list genuinely swear by. Honda Accord Full Overview When I was a kid, the term “the Big Three” was synonymous with General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler. To be accurate, I’m old enough to remember the Big Four, but let’s not go there. If one says the phrase “the Big Three” these days, they might very well be talking about the three best-selling vehicles in America: the Ford F-Series, Chevrolet Silverado, and Ram 1500. As for cars, the time when the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, and Toyota Camry were the three best-selling cars in America is long gone. These days, SUVs have taken over, and only Toyota’s Camry remains as a top 10 best–seller. Still, the Honda, Toyota, and Nissan midsize sedans remain hugely important (both the Accord and Altima are among the top-selling 25...
It is a strategic, long-term partnership, Ford CEO Jim Farley says. Ford will look for forms of co-development or sharing of technology or platforms in the future. “But we’re not just running over to Plymouth [the Michigan town, where Rivian Engineering and Design Center is located] and giving them assignments.” RJ Scaringe, CEO of Rivian, is equally bullish. “We have a very good relationship with Ford,” he tells MotorTrend. “We haven’t announced anything with Ford in terms of what we might do together,” he says. “We’re just being very thoughtful of the discussions that are going on.” When there is something to announce, “we would announce together.” See all 38 photos Ford is More Than an Investor in Rivian Ford ...
Diesel engines used to initiate combustion in a prechamber that housed the glow-plug for cold-starts, but fancy high-pressure direct-injection pretty much retired the prechamber. We’ve recently learned the 2022 Maserati MC20 Nettuno V-6 engine is reviving it—in gasoline engines—as a way to speed the burn rate and extract more work and performance out of the air-fuel mixture. Now we hear Ford is working with FEV, an engineering consultancy, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory on a prechamber engine aimed at boosting efficiency. The $10-million three-year project, partly funded by the Department of Energy, aims to develop a “Next Generation High Efficiency Boosted Engine.” Specifically, the effort aims to achieve a 23 percent improvement in efficiency and a 15 percent re...
With its pared-back nonchalance and minimalist silhouettes, The Frankie Shop isn’t one of those brands that fight for attention on the feeds of Instagram’s best-dressed. In typical French fashion, it’s a brand that somehow managed to garner a cult-like status without having to really try that hard, which is no mean feat in a digitalised fashion landscape that fights tooth and nail for those much-coveted clicks. Yet once you’ve clocked the brand, you start to see it everywhere you go: An oversized blazer thrown over a pair of straight-leg jeans, a colour-pop tracksuit paired with velcro sandals or a clever cutout knit rubbing shoulders with a chunky chain necklace. Its success lies in its subtlety, but these pieces a...

Audi Q5 Full Overview Just before 2020 ended, we had the chance to drive the 2021 Audi SQ5, the sportier variant of the Q5 powered by a punchy V-6 engine. Like we noted back then, the SQ5 delivers the best of both worlds. It’s a comfortable SUV that’s great for everyday driving, but also more dynamic when the road turns twisty. Now, we’ve driven and tested the 2021 Audi Q5, the toned-down normal version that competes in the compact-luxury-SUV segment, one of today’s most popular. As you’d expect, then, the Q5 is indeed Audi’s most popular model, making up 25 percent of the brand’s sales, with the conventionally powered, non-S version responsible for most of that chunk (the balance includes not just SQ5s, but also Q5 PHEVs). In order to be a po...
Honda Accord Full Overview The combination of reduced space and a lower ride height (relative to SUVs), and cheap gas is killing sedans. As you may have noticed, there are no American nameplates in this Big Test. Ford discontinued the Fusion, the Chrysler 200 was unceremoniously dumped before it could even complete its model cycle, and Chevrolet is reportedly letting the Malibu die after the 2023 model year—just like Volkswagen is doing with the Passat. But the family sedan is far from dead. Americans bought nearly 1 million of them last year. Japanese manufacturers keep investing in the segment, and the Koreans are not giving up—the Kia K5 is the newest model in the segment, while the Hyundai Sonata arrived in late 2019. After all, with Detroit walking away from sedans, that market share ...
