11 Beauty Looks I Am Impatient to Try This Year

When it came to our beauty priorities last year, skincare reigned supreme. Given the fact that most of 2020 was spent in the comfort of our own homes, any need, want, or desire to pay attention to our hair and makeup routines dwindled. Time usually spent on makeup application was instead used for self-care rituals like kicking back with a face mask, doing an at-home manicure, or indulging in a quick facial massage. Having said that, while there’s no doubt that spending this time on my skin was much-needed (in hindsight, it acted as a nice form of escapism), I’m officially ready to get back into this beauty thing properly. Sure, it’s been great to let my skin breathe and give my hair a bit of a break, but the truth is that I really miss doing my hair and makeup. At the start ...

6 Jewellery Trends I’d Love to Add to My Collection This Year

The words “jewellery” and “trends” really shouldn’t be used in the same sentence in my opinion, as this is one area in particular where you want to buy with longevity in mind. Any additions you do make to your jewellery box need to feel really “you,” because few purchases are as personal and sentimental as a piece of jewellery. For this very reason, the trends cycle in the jewellery world is much slower than we see with ready-to-wear collections, and there are items and styles that will always, always appear on a trend list.  One of the most surprising shifts in spending behaviour since the pandemic began in 2020 has been the rise in fine jewellery sales. “We have had a brilliant reaction to fine jewellery, which has grown 150% year...

Ford’s Edsel Was a Loser, but Its 410 V-8 Engine Was Awesome

If you look at any “Worst Cars Ever LOL” lists around the internet (or even in books), you will inevitably find a photo of the Edsel’s schnoz featured prominently. Many remember Ford’s failed marque solely as a failure for sundry reasons, but few remember the details of the Edsel lineup itself. That includes the 410 cubic-inch Edsel-475 V-8 in the top-range Corsair and Citation models, which is worth a few words. See all 5 photos We won’t spend a whole lot of time talking about why the Edsel failed, but the year-long “slam dunk” marketing campaign that anticipated the car’s release flopped. You can read entire books about that if you want, but the engines designed for the Edsel’s 1958 release played a central part in how Ford hoped it w...

Tiny Nissan e-NV200 Camper Concept Is One Cozy Little Van

In the near future, could your adventure van be electric? Seems like it’s going that way. And while its early days yet to get the sort of raw energy density necessary to, say, overland for a month off the grid, a tiny electric camper such as this e-NV200 Winter Camper Concept van might be great for brief excursions in the not-so-remote countryside. See all 9 photos Nissan Europe is exploring this idea with this camperized version of its tiny electric van, which is similar to the NV200 cargo van sold in the United States, except for the fact that it uses a battery-electric drivetrain. Anyone who’s seen one of these things in person can agree that it’s just the right size for smaller commercial vehicle use, but it appears to be a bit claustrophobic for camping duties—as the...

Steve Aoki Unveils Dim Mak and Playboy Collaborative Merch

Always one for collaborations, Steve Aoki just announced his next merchandise drop. For his latest, he has combined his flagship record label, Dim Mak, with the entertainment giant Playboy. On Twitter, a link to the shop was shared alongside a video showing off some of the new merch.  In the promotional video, you can see Aoki himself model some of the new clothing. At the end, he talks about the collaboration and calls it a special release. Fans will be able to choose from a pair of hoodies, t-shirts, and long-sleeved tees featuring designs co-branded with Dim Mak and Playboy insignias. Four of the pieces feature tie-dye print while the remaining pair is solid black.  Dim Mak and Playboy’s collaborative merch is available for purchase now. You can check out the comple...

Trust Monikh: the Items That I’m Adding to My Wardrobe In 2021

There are hundreds of thousands of influencers in the social ether, but only a handful who we religiously stalk in order to virtually steal the clothes off their backs. Our primary target is Monikh—the London-based styling and shopping guru who seeks out the very coolest buys from every corner of the retail world. From her inspiring tips on re-wearing her well-chosen investment items to hunting down the coolest high-street pieces, her Instagram feed @monikh and website are a veritable hotbed of things you’re going to want to purchase immediately (and will never regret). Each month, Monikh will share her new picks exclusively for you… 2021 is here! And while of course nothing has really changed, I find the start of a new year so empowering. A new year is full of possibilities, for exciting ...

Outfit Planning Is Hard Right Now, so Let Rosie HW Do It for You

If you’re a regular around these parts, you’ll know our obsession with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley—be it her wardrobe or skincare collection—knows no bounds. In our edit meetings, we find ourselves discussing her looks at length and why each and every thing she chooses to wear is faultless. So when we saw that Rosie had compiled all of her latest ensembles into one handy Instagram carousel, we did what only seemed right and broke them down piece by piece into easy-to-mimic outfit formulas.  Upon doing this, we realised that Rosie has inadvertently created the perfect 2021 capsule wardrobe. Sure, there are a good few coats in her current rotation, which we could absolutely do with right now, but underneath them are items we can already see ourselves wearin...

22 Easy Hairstyles You Can Actually Do At Home

I’ll admit, I am totally useless at doing my hair. While I can just about handle a curling wand, I am yet to master a proper blow-dry and when it comes to actual hairstyles I’ll either wear it down (exciting) or in a topknot. However, we are all spending a lot of time at home lately so I thought I should seize the opportunity to step outside my hair comfort zone and try something new. In fact, I called upon Adam Reed, UK Editorial Ambassador for L’Oreal Professionnel, to lend me his expertise when it came to finding the best easy hairstyles that we’ll all want to recreate right now. I’m a Beauty Editor and This Is Every Product I Used Up In 2020

There’s nothing I enjoy more than being asked for a product recommendation. Whether it’s a glow-seeking colleague asking for tips on the best brightening face masks or a a tired mum friend seeking an eye cream that will actually work on dark circles, I have always loved offering up advice on the best beauty products. But how do I determine what’s worth recommending? Well, I’m lucky in my job as a beauty editor to be sent a huge amount of products to test which means that my beauty stash is in near constant rotation. Some products make their way in and out pretty sharpish while others might stick around for a little while before making their way into my friends and family donation pile. There is no greater seal of approval, however,...

This Old Alfa Romeo Hides a Surprise Where the Seats Used To Be

Alfa Romeo, eight-cylinders—that’s a rather evocative cluster of letters. If you’re any sort of Alfisti like us, the very mention of an eight-cylinder Alfa has you slack-jawed and glaze-eyed with thoughts of Alfa’s pre-war straight-eight monsters that claimed world championships and terrorized Italian farmroads, and then onto dreams of Alfa’s high-revving racing V-8s from the 1950s and 1960s that begat the outrageously stylish Tipo 33 Stradale and the later Montreal. Eventually, you’ll settle on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione from the late 2000s, shredding tires and breaking hearts with its Ferrari/Maserati V-8. This 1974 Alfa Romeo Alfasud is none of those. The tinny and rust-prone Alfasud was likely the last Alfa to enter your mind during that dayd...

2023 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray: Everything We Know About the Hybrid

The eighth-generation Chevrolet Corvette. It’s a mid-engined masterpiece that is so far pretty great in both base and Z51 flavors. And it will have even more variants in the future. That much is almost certain. What exactly these variants are, however, remains an open question until Chevy makes it official. That said, intel that we’ve gathered suggests a Z06 is on the horizon. While the C8 Z06 is an extremely exciting proposition, it’s the so-called “E-Ray” that truly has our attention. See all 34 photos What Is the Chevy Corvette E-Ray’s Name All About? To be very clear, nothing’s official until Chevy tells us so. And at this early date, we have only rumors and a few scant firm details to work with. Still, this combination gives us a reasonable id...

Every Celebrity I Follow Seems to Have a Pair of These Gold Hoops

Gold hoops are one of those items, like skinny jeans and a white T-shirt, which in theory should be very easy to find, however in practice it can be difficult to find the perfect one. Over a year ago fashion influencer Lucy Williams released her latest collection with jewellery brand Missoma, and the gold hoops quickly became a firm favourite with the fashion crowd. The likes of Alexa Chung, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Bella Hadid have all worn these hoops, along with almost every fashion influencer in London. There are six available styles, with varying sizes and finishes, from every day subtle hoops to larger styles which are more impactful.  You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should be. It begins with giv...
