8 Warm Outfit Ideas for Dining Outside When It’s Cold

I never thought I’d be writing about the predicament of what to wear to dine outdoors in the winter (because who does that?), but it’s our reality in 2020, so here I am to give you some advice. First and foremost, it’s up to each of us to decide what level of risk we’re comfortable taking during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dining outdoors is indeed safer than dining indoors and depending what Tier you are in, many who are choosing to go to a restaurant are spending their weekends looking for restaurants with outdoor heaters.  I, for one, have dined outdoors in the heat with flies swarming and in the rain this year, so I guess my next adventure is dining outside when it’s sub-zero temperatures. But it’s going to take a little preparation, so let...

Eureka! Dodge Adds Gold Rush to 2021 Challenger’s Color Palette

The Challenger is also offered in a number of vibrant colors such as Frostbite, Hellraisin, Sinamon Stick, TorRed, and F8 Green. All of these bright colors are inspired by Challengers of old, the latest of which is Gold Rush, a metallic gold color. The hue was formerly only available on the Challenger 50th Anniversary Edition but will now be available on select Challengers for 2021. If you want a Gold Rush-colored Chally, though, there’s a slight catch. You also need to settle for a Satin Black hood, roof, and trunk. Not exactly the worst tradeoff in the world (the black bits also help break up what otherwise might be an overabundance of gold-painted bodywork). Gold Rush is only available on Challenger T/A, T/A 392, SRT Hellcat, and SRT Hellcat Redeye models. Sorry, fans of both Gold...

Zero Labs Launches Modular, BYOB (Bring-Your-Own-Body) EV Platform for Classic Cars

Stick your head in the sand all you want, classic car fanatics—there’s a reckoning on the distant horizon. As much as we like to think the rising swell of both EV legislation and the sporadic bans on new vehicles powered by fossil fuels will not extend to our beloved classics, something’s gotta give. Now, we don’t believe a blanket ban on gas-powered cars both new and old is in the immediate future, considering the overwhelming majority of existing car and truck owners in this world cannot afford to upgrade to a shiny new EV—reasonably priced or otherwise—nor does the current charging infrastructure support such a drastic paradigm shift. Expect sales of gas-powered vehicles to be banned in some major metropolitan zones, but the ICE business to continue as usual in less po...

I Can’t and Won’t Stop Buying Vases—Here Are My Favourites

It used to be shoes but now my shopping weakness is vases. Has Covid-era claustrophobia just morphed into a kind extreme nesting where only ceramics can comfort me? Am I now—gasp—old? Or do I just simply have enough shoes and need to move onto something with almost no limit on what’s an appropriate amount to own? It may well be a combination of the three, in addition to the fact that my footwear requirements have really been filtered down to comfy, comfier and comfiest: Flat boots, trainers and slippers are all in constant rotation. But either way, the vase obsession is real; I’m constantly repinning all sorts of pieces and I really don’t discriminate. Vintage, sculptural, minimalist, kitsch, and artsy styles are all littering my (privat...

Everyone I Follow Has This Trending Candle—And It’s Only £15

After spending an inordinate amount of time at home this year, there’s absolutely no denying that we’ve all become a little more conscious of our spaces. I for one will be the first to admit I’ve become thoroughly obsessed with homeware, and as with most things, I have found myself turning to Instagram for inspiration.  From chic sofas to quirky table lamps and coffee table books I’d love to thumb through, there is no shortage of Insta-worthy decor on the aesthetically-pleasing app, though recently the one item I’ve found myself drawn to has been candles.  Historically, when talking about candle ‘trends’ we’ve often analysed the key scents for the season or chronicled up-and-coming brands which have gained our attenti...

Fashion Girls Can’t Stop Wearing These Pretty Winter Makeup Trends

As we make our way through the last days of crisp autumn into the depths winter, it’s become more and more clear that we’re traversing unprecedented times. IRL interactions are still limited, and even when they do occur, masks and face coverings keep us from taking in each other’s mugs the way we once could. Despite all of this, there are still some makeup trends that have taken hold that speak to the times and prove that fashion girls will continue to serve face, even if only over Zoom and Instagram. No surprises there—am I right? While the vampy wintery vibes of yesteryear aren’t quite as strong, the looks are still perfect for channeling the seasonal shift in style. From bold lip moments to chic eye shadow and even an unexpected remi...

6 Women Over 40 Reveal the Foundations They Swear by for Flawless Skin

Finding a great foundation that tackles every single one of your skin’s needs is no mean feat. In fact, many spend years on the hunt for the perfect formula. And the worst part is that sometimes, even when you have spent many moons testing and trialling different products, you might finally find the one, only for your skin to change its mind on it after a few months. Sadly, such makeup dramas are never more prominent than when we are dealing with skin ageing. As we get older, the stuff that our skin naturally produces to keep it looking plump, hydrated and radiant starts to diminish – and these signs commonly start to show once we hit our 40s. With decreased collagen and hyaluronic acid production, even those that spent the first few decades of their life with a flawless, d...

2021 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid Adds Fresh Looks, Small Price Bump

As before, the Crosstrek Hybrid still comes in a single trim level. There is an optional $2,500 equipment package that includes a power-operated moonroof, a heated steering wheel, an in-dash navigation system, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system with a 432-watt amplifier. A mild refresh to the 2021 Crosstrek Hybrid adds a new fascia, which differentiates it subtly from its gas-only counterpart. The front end now sports a more wing-like set of bars flanking the grille badge and a prominent contrasting “blade” outboard of its foglights in the lower bumper. Frankly, it makes the regular 2021 Crosstrek’s front fascia and fender extensions look a little clumsy by comparison. What might make a bigger difference to drivers is the recalibrated springs and dampers—considering...

2020 Strikes Again: Apparently Your Tires Are Killing Salmon

A scientific report from the University of Washington published in the journal Science (via a report in The Seattle Times) has linked 6PPD, a near-universal chemical added to tires as a preservative, with the death of coho salmon in the Northwest. And it’s not just a couple of salmon here and there. In some runs, between 40 and 90 percent of the salmon die before spawning due to the symptoms that researchers were exploring, independent of other causes of fish mortality. This issue affects a great deal of the area studied: the Puget Sound. And the culprit, the researchers concluded, is an obscure chemical found in tire dust that is washing into watersheds. Tires naturally shed tiny particles on the road as they wear down. In this case, this dust then runs into salmon-bearing streams a...

Airstream Flying Cloud First Test: Fashionable Glamping

Ram 1500 Full Overview Not many products actually deserve the label “iconic,” but Airstream travel trailers have earned it. Most people can’t tell a matte-white Starcraft from a Chinook or Gulf Stream being towed behind a truck. But catch a glimpse of one of those big aluminum Twinkies going by, and you know exactly what it is. Airstreams are so associated with the golden era of RVing that boutique “glamping” resorts have popped up around the country consisting entirely of refurbished Airstreams. With the constraints of life in 2020 bringing a desire for socially distant, self-directed escapes, RVs and travel trailers are as popular as ever. What better time, then, to test an Airstream Flying Cloud. We used it as our dead weight in our towing tests for Truck o...

It’s Official: The 2021 Ford Bronco Is Delayed

We had to wait decades for the return of the Ford Bronco SUV, and now we’re going to have to wait a little bit longer. Ford has confirmed to MotorTrend the coronavirus pandemic and its associated chaos has caused a supply-chain issue that will push the 2021 Bronco launch to the end of next summer rather than this coming spring, as originally planned. A spokesman told us, “Ford is committed to building Broncos with the quality our customers expect and deserve.” Ford declined to name the affected suppliers. See all 50 photos Customers can still build the Bronco of their dreams on Ford’s website—we did!—but official orders from reservation holders are now not being accepted until the middle of January, a delay of approximately a month. Those or...

Why the Micro Manicure Is Set to Be the Next Big Thing

And the best bit is, the style is totally universal. “It’s become such a popular choice because it’s the most flattering style of manicure, no matter what shape or size your nail bed. When it’s done correctly, it elongates and compliments all nails,” Westmoreland says. And while it is best executed by a professional in a salon, with a bit of patience and practise, you can do it yourself at home, too. “Make sure you set enough time aside because it can be a bit fiddly. Be prepared to practice and spend time prepping the nail. If the prep isn’t right, your polish won’t be either,” she adds.  Keen to give the micro mani a go for yourself? Keep scrolling for Westmoreland’s top tips. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should...
