I Just Looked Through Thousands of Dresses, and These 25 Wowed Me

If there’s one thing I know about Who What Wear readers, it’s that you all love dresses. While we might not have as many opportunities to wear frocks to parties, dinners, pubs, and clubs, especially with the festive season coming up, don’t let that put you off wearing something that you love. In a nutshell, wear that dress that you’ve had your eye on because it’ll make you feel great. To help, I decided to look through literally thousands of dresses online and find the best party dresses I could for Christmas 2020. There are a few rules I often stick to for dressing during the festive period. Firstly, I like to pick something I’ll wear over and over so it doesn’t go to the big festive wardrobe in the sky. Sequins are fine so long as you remember yo...

7 Interesting Winter Outfits You Can Wear for Weekend Walks

As much as we’d like to pretend they haven’t, winter temperatures have well and truly set in. The mercury has dropped, and to be frank, it is well below what a summer-loving Australian like me is used to. I am in need of a heavy dose of winter outfit inspiration, as getting through the coming months will require a lot of planning. Where better to turn than Instagram? From images of cosy coats shot among fallen leaves to envy-inducing fluffy jackets and roll-neck jumper combinations, our set of fashion friends definitely know how to make anyone crave winter dressing.  While winter might not be my season of choice, one thing working in its favour is the fact that it provides more opportunity to experiment with my wardrobe. The abundance of ...

The One Coat Trend I’m Desperate to Get My Hands on This Winter

In contrast to the high-tech fashion anoraks and Michelin Man–inspired puffas cropping up on Instagram, this sepia-toned trend is reminiscent of the sultry ensembles of old Hollywood femme fatales. In other words, they come with a generous side order of sass. They may have originally been worn with ankle-grazing frocks, ice skates and fur muffs, but in true 2020 style, the fashion crowd has enjoyed subverting the retro undertones and pairing theirs with light-wash denim, chunky jewellery and clashing prints. The beauty of this coat trend is that it’s available at every price point—from under £50 to over £500. Not only this, but it’s also a style that lends itself to buying secondhand (which is always a big plus in our books). Wh...

Polestar 2 Recalled…Again

Polestar is working through a few kinks with its 2 sedan lately, and this recall for faulty inverters represents the second large recall for the new Swedish electric vehicle in as many months. Last time, a software bug could cause the vehicle to lose power and stop driving. This time, the faulty inverters could cause the same issue, but for a different reason. There’s also a “service campaign” involving the cabin (and battery) heater. The inverter is a critical component in EVs, transforming the direct current stored in the 78-kWh battery pack into alternating current that’s utilized by the car’s two electric motors, which are good for a total system output of 408 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque. Polestar states 4,586 vehicles with this issue have been de...

Lil Nas X Likens Trump Leaving the White House to This ‘Hannah Montana’ Scene & Miley Cyrus Approves

Lil Nas X dug into the Disney Channel archives to find a scene he believes Donald Trump will relate to if he doesn’t win re-election as president of the United States. The “Old Town Road” rapper posted a 20-second cut of the Hannah Montana season 3 finale that aired 10 years ago, where Miley Cyrus‘ character Miley Stewart kisses her empty Malibu beach home goodbye. “Donald Trump leaving the white house,” Lil Nas X captioned the clip on Thursday (Nov. 5). And the former Disney Channel star gave the meme her stamp of approval by liking it on Twitter. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should be. It begins with giving you back power. Get to meet Beautiful people, chat and make ...

Can the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV Compete With BMW and Mercedes?

The new Escalade isn’t just for loyal Cadillac buyers anymore. Even German-brand fans should take a serious look at the redesigned Escalade, which has upped its game after watching the segment leapfrog it in the years since its comparison win in 2015. After spending some time in a loaded $113,565 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV—that’s the long-wheelbase Chevrolet Suburban-sized model—we have some thoughts on how the Cadillac excels and and how it falls behind the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS. The Luxury of Choice The Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator offer one luxury that Mercedes, BMW, Infiniti, and Lexus probably never will—two available sizes. Offering this additional layer of customization allows buyers to zone in on what they really want from a full-size three-row luxury ...

A Lot of Miata: 2021 MX-5 Cup Schedule Announced

Amateur racing is an expensive hobby. Fortunately, Mazda makes it relatively affordable by way of the MX-5 Cup.  We know, “relatively” is doing a lot of lifting in the prior sentence, because even though running in the MX-5 Cup costs a lot less to compete in than other racing series, it’s far from a cheap pastime. License and entry fees alone run into the thousands of dollars, and that’s before accounting for the price of hardware, such as the car itself, and consumables such as brake pads, tires, fuel, fluids, and other parts. Even so, the fact is the MX-5 Cup remains accessible, and it’s just announced a new agreement with IMSA for 2021 that sees the series expand to seven venues and 14 rounds for the 2021 season—the most in history, according...

Sourcing the season’s biggest fashion trends secondhand has become a bit of a pastime of mine. There’s something I find so satisfying about investing in a directional look through the medium of pre-loved fashion. Back in August, I decided to put my obsession to good use and compile a vintage guide to the summer’s biggest trends, and thankfully our lovely readers couldn’t get enough, so I’m back again for autumn/winter 2020 to bring you the ultimate shopping guide to the new season styles that look even better secondhand. Whether it’s because of their quality, cut or fabric, I have chosen seven trends that will slip seamlessly into your new season capsule and can easily found on any onl...

7 Cold-Weather Outfits That Will Bring You Joy This November

I’m repeating myself, so forgive me when I say the following: We have to squeeze as much joy as possible out of our daily activities. Right now, that probably means doing things like making your favourite dinners on repeat and getting outside as much as you can. For me, it also means wearing clothing that actually makes me happy. For example, on low days, I like to reach for an oversize red cardigan that’s just as cosy as it is fun. I’m also a fan of wearing a leopard print dress or skirt—even if I stay in all day. I looked to some of my favourite influencers to see what they’re wearing right now. Not only are these outfits that battle the colder weather but they also might give you a rush of endorphins, however small an amount that might be.  Firstly, the...

Land Rover Defender V-8: Two States of Tune and Available in the SWB 90

The Land Rover Defender is hot. (Just ask our 2021 SUV of the Year Judges, including yours truly.) Looking around Los Angeles with our eyeballs on the anecdotal pulse, the British SUV will be the must-have vehicle this winter. And if L.A., which still defines car culture, is craving the things, soon your town will, too. That said, the global pandemic has slowed everything down, including supply chains, meaning Land Rover is scrambling to build enough to meet demand. As hot as the Defender may be, though, the excellent SUV is just getting started. There’s only one Defender you can buy in the States right now, the Defender 110 with a turbocharged inline-six engine. By late February or early March, Americans will be able to purchase a Defender 90 with the same engine or the gas-fir...

This Ford Ranger Race Truck Is a Raptor-Flavored Track Rat

Ford Thailand is showing off its new Ford Thailand Racing (FTR) Ranger race truck, and it looks the business, with a bold blue livery, some intense aero aids, and . . . a 3.2-liter inline-five turbodiesel engine? This definitely isn’t the sort of race truck we’re used to here in the States, one built for track work rather than desert blasting, but it only takes a few minutes of watching some of the Thailand Super Series Super Pickup class competition to realize this truck series is a lot of fun. Remember, Ford has deep truck roots in Thailand, and manufactures the Ranger there. In fact, the Ranger Raptor made its global debut in Thailand back in 2018. But while this was once a regular production four-door Ranger, it’s not that anymore, although it is based on a real Range...
