Tesla has released its Full Self-Driving system in beta form, with a small group of real-world owners gaining access to the semi-autonomous driving assistance feature. As the system slowly advances toward its promise of fully autonomous driving, the prices Tesla is charging new customers for access to the feature sometime in the future, when it’s actually available, have increased. You see, buyers have been able to purchase the feature in advance of its official, usable rollout for quite some time. Before the beta test program launched, Full Self-Driving (or “FSD” in Tesla-speak) option ran $8,000 on any new Tesla Model 3 or Model S sedans or Model Y or X crossovers, but now the option’s price tag has jumped to $10,000. This isn’t...
If you don’t closely follow motorsports, you might not be familiar with BMW’s M4 GT4. In brief, it’s the German automaker’s turnkey race car built for amateur class racing—essentially, if you’re not paid to race but have a bunch of cash and want to go wheel to wheel in sanctioned competition, this is the BMW to do it in. Since its launch in 2017, the GT4 has proven to be a winner all over the globe, and it’s appeared in road races and endurance events like the 2017 24 Hours of Spa, where it came first in its class with Top Gear America host Jethro Bovingdon behind the wheel. And now BMW has seen fit to give it four new liveries celebrating both its overall success and its fourth year of racing. The quartet of fresh looks are winners from a...
You can imagine my surprise when a trend emerged earlier this year that tempted me to buy into the sporty staple. While there isn’t anything overtly different about the new iteration, somehow the hoodie 2.0’s penchant for woolen fabrics has offered it a softer edge, meaning it is easier to wear with polished separates. Who What Wear’s Emma Spedding appeared on Zoom a few weeks ago wearing a chic blazer with a knitted blue hoodie layered underneath, and she looked fab. Rendered in everything from fine merino and chunky knit to the softest cashmere and fluffy mohair, there are so many grown-up spins on the hoodie right now. Most people make like Emma and pair ...
As a shopping editor, a question I find myself being asked again and again is, by friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances alike, is what do I buy the man in my life? I don’t like to generalise but, whether he’s your dad, brother, best friend, or significant other, they can be more difficult to shop for. Why? I can only speak from personal experience, but the men I buy presents for are a little less picky, which in turn makes shopping for them a broad prospect. This, however, makes them no-less deserving of the consideration I’d ordinarily pour into gift-buying; it just means I might have to think outside of the box. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but the youth obsession is tired. As a beauty editor with access to the best everything, I’m certainly tempted to reach for the serums and skin treatments that promise to keep me looking younger, longer. But when I really stop to think about it, the constant messaging that younger is better is damaging, problematic, and simply not true. Of course, youth has its perks (at 31, I’m now officially a member of the “My Knees Crack When I Sit Down” club), but with every passing year, I become acutely more aware that with age comes wisdom, grace, and a special brand of beauty that you can only earn by living long enough to show a few fine lines and wrinkles. I’m tired of people being shocked...
We may not be going out much right now, but fashion still has an important role to play in our day to day lives. One thing we learnt from spending months inside is that what we choose to put on in the morning can have a huge effect on our outlook on the day ahead. Sweater sets and workout leggings were a revelation to begin with (and, of course, still a great fallback for those days when comfort is key), but after a while we found joy in turning back to dressing up to make us feel good. That means anything from adding a jazzy top to leggings to provide an injection of productivity for a long day of Zoom meetings, or even changing into a sparkly dress to enjoy a night in front of Strictly. Right now, then, as we head into what feels like it might be a rather long winter, turning ...
We’ve already seen some of the SEMA360 vehicle reveals and teasers, so you might already have heard that the SEMA aftermarket industry parts and culture event has transformed into a virtual show for 2020. Jeep has already teased an overland-ready Gladiator loaded up with Mopar parts, and Chevrolet pulled the wraps off its resto-modded K5 Blazer-E powered by a Bolt EV crate powertrain. Toyota’s SEMA360 GR Supras trade truckish purposefulness for a focus on drift performance, and aesthetics. See all 45 photos Two of the Supras are drift builds, but first let’s discuss the Ornamental Conifer GR Supra. As you can see, despite the name it’s not a Christmas-tree-themed build. Ornamental Conifer is the alter ego of Nicolai Sclater, a British artist who is at the art direct...
Infiniti is fine-tuning its Q60 luxury coupe to offer more standard features and color options. Alongside those changes the automaker also has revealed pricing for the 2021 Infiniti Q60: The two-door will start from $42,675, making it more affordable than rivals. It may not offer quite the same brand cachet as some German competitors, but the Infiniti is much cheaper. Compared to the 2021 BMW 4 Series coupe ($46,595) and Audi’s 2021 A5 coupe ($45,045), the Q60 is much cheaper and closer in price to the 2021 Lexus RC, which starts at $43,145. See all 20 photos Grand Blue and Slate Gray are new paint colors for 2021. Infiniti has also made rain-sensing wipers standard on all models. One step above the base trim is the Luxe, priced from $51,225. It adds a host of new standard ...
Last year, when the SEMA show was still a physical affair in Las Vegas, Toyota showed off a GR Supra Heritage Edition show car that paired upgraded performance with the style (and, in modified form, the actual rear wing) of the legendary fourth-generation Supra. One thing it didn’t have was the MkIV’s available removable targa roof panel. It looks like this year’s version will address that, and Toyota is calling this new GR Supra concept the Sport Top Edition. It’s coming soon—at least, in concept form—on the heels of Toyota’s other SEMA360 Supras, but this video doesn’t leave much to the imagination about what we can expect. Toyota says this is a companion to last year’s Heritage car. We get a glimpse of what the final vehicle will look like in a ...
To say that the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season has been unprecedented would be the height of understatement. It’s a season that demanded an in-depth telling of how it unfolded, and NASCAR 2020: Under Pressure does just that, documenting a year on the track unlike any in NASCAR history. Debuting this Saturday, October 31, only on the MotorTrend App, NASCAR 2020: Under Pressure brings fans over the pit wall and into the thick of the action like few NASCAR programs have before. From the pandemic and NASCAR’s reaction to it with the opening episode “Hit the Brakes,” to the Bubba Wallace led conversation on racial equality in the second episode “We Stand United,” (debuting Nov. 7) the seven-part docuseries examines the seismic events that have unfolded during ...
Much more than your average November, there’s a definite sense of trepidation in the air as we enter into winter 2020. While it might be tricky to find big things to look forward to, we will always have small pleasures: the comforting warmth of a woolen roll neck or the toasty appeal of fleece-lined slippers. It might be dark and it might be cold, but let us not underestimate the mood-boosting powers of cosy, cold-weather style. Whether you’re looking for a cocooning puffer coat or a pair or sturdy boots, thankfully the high street has delivered on all fronts this season. From Arket’s sellout puffers and Mango’s western-inspired tassels, to COS’s winning coats and Gap’s classic cashmere, scroll down to see and shop the...

It’s a process that takes dedication and, sometimes, a bit of an investment. This is altogether more difficult when you consider the sheer number of fragrance options out there.
