Mark My Words: This Boot Trend Is Going to Divide the Fashion Crowd

Here at Who What Wear, we are very much proponents of timeless fashion trends that will transition from season to season seamlessly, however, we can’t pretend that every now and then we don’t love a divisive style that triggers debate within fashion circles. This season, it comes in the form of Bottega Veneta’s thigh-high boot. High-shine, skintight and oh-so-chunky, this is not one for the fashion fainthearted. Kate Middleton’s £85 Earrings Go Perfectly With Her Face Mask

Kate Middleton and Prince William had a busy day today, making me feel just a tad embarrassed about still being in pajamas at 3 p.m. The duo visited the London Bridge JobCentre, Brick Lane Bakery, and the East London Mosque to meet with Brits and discuss the impacts of the pandemic on their lives. Ever the good role models, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge both wore masks and socially distanced for their visits.  As we’ve said before, there’s no reason not to have a little fun with face masks, and Kate Middleton is inspiring me to coordinate my mask with earrings in a similar shade. She wore the same Amaia Cotton Face Mask in Pepper Liberty ($19) that she wore last month, but this time she found the perfect pink jewelry item to...

2021 Dodge Charger and Durango Pursuit Cop Cars Are Ready to Patrol

You’re probably not in the market for a pursuit vehicle/cop car, and the closest we at MotorTrend will get to one (hopefully) is a week behind the wheel—which, to be fair, is pretty dang sweet. But for most drivers, there’s still something awesomely intriguing about police vehicles—they’re like forbidden fruit most people will never taste. But we can at least learn about them, and the latest such rides from Dodge, the 2021 Charger Pursuit sedan and 2021 Durango Pursuit SUV, are now in the wild and available for order. See all 11 photos Built with direct input from the Police Advisory Board and officers themselves, Dodge’s fleet of pursuit vehicles are claimed to be technologically advanced and packed full of law enforcement-friendly features. The Charger P...

2022 Hyundai Tucson First Look: One Look Isn’t Enough

Labeling a new-car debut story as a “First Look,” as we do here at MotorTrend, can prove slightly limiting on occasion. What if a new vehicle, say, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson, invites second, third, or even seventh looks? If you have only one look to give, however, we say make it last as long as possible with Hyundai’s all-new compact crossover. What’s New? Nearly Everything The current Tucson has been on sale since 2015, having been last fully redesigned for the 2016 model year. It’s a competent if unassuming entry in the competitive compact crossover segment. (It places midpack in our rankings of the class.) The 2022 Hyundai Tucson, on the other hand, is almost entirely new, with fresh styling, new hybrid powertrain options, and a massively overhauled interior....

Holly Willoughby Just Wore 3 Outfits I’m Definitely Stealing

This Morning‘s Holly Willoughby might not be considered a directional style icon. Like most mainstream television personalities, she tends to favour cheery items with mass appeal rather than trend-led fashion buys. However, ever since she wore a long-sleeved rainbow dress by London Fashion Week designer Ashish a couple of years ago, editors have been paying closer attention to what she wears in her daily outfit posts. Right now, we’re all about Holly’s new back-to-work wardrobe. After the summer off This Morning duties, she’s back on our screens and is already nailing her outfits.  So what is her stylist Angie Smith’s tips for making the most out of a high-street budget? “I think that certain brands excel in specific styles. For example, if I need a...

I Just Created a Simple Autumn Capsule Out of These 21 Buys

In my mind, the autumn months have always lent themselves to the minimalist aesthetic, and while this may sound counterintuitive (after all, it’s a season defined by an abundance of layering, rather than the simplicity of a summer dress), it’s the perfect time to embrace the “less is more” mantra. Some of the most beautiful outfits I’ve ever seen have been comprised of just tailored trousers, brogues and a chunky cashmere knit. Perhaps the beauty lies in the simple textural contrasts that the season can offer.  You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should be. 4 Vintage Shopping Experts Just Told Me What’s on Their Wish Lists

I get it—secondhand and vintage shopping isn’t for everyone but for me is a real treat. The bargains I’ve found: from a £15 Aquascutum jacket to a £110 classic Burberry trench coat, as well as an embroidered cardigan French influencer and founder of Rouje, Jeanne Damas complimented me on. Not to mention the pieces of vintage sportswear I wear religiously and a checked shirt I bought for £3 from the Salvation Army charity shop, which I still wear 11 years on. Outside of COVD times, I genuinely loved nothing more than browsing my favourite retro clothing shops. However, right now, I have to settle for the digital options available—thankfully they are plentiful. From Etsy to eBay as well as Vestiaire Collective and Oxfam’s online store, there are many way...

These Are the Brands I Actually Shop on Net-a-Porter

There is a particular thrill that comes with partaking in the digital equivalent of window shopping or simply browsing through an online array of items you adore but may not realistically be able to afford.  I experience this thrill each time I log on to Net-a-Porter and peruse pages of new-in Bottega Veneta bags that retail for a small fortune or inspect in great detail the intricate construction of Gucci’s latest masterpieces. And while Net-a-Porter’s extensive collection may seem as if it’s filled solely with aspirational luxury designer items with price tags in the thousands, the e-commerce platform actually carries several contemporary brands that are far more attainable.  From instantly recognizable cult labels like Ganni, Rixo and Stin...

Moonroof vs. Sunroof: Is There a Difference Between the Two Roof Types?

In the beginning, no cars had roofs. Then the newfangled machines gained folding canvas tops, some with clear side curtains. Then Cadillac became the first manufacturer to offer fully enclosed factory bodywork. Before long, folks were looking for something in-between. Europe answered the call with canvas- or metal-covered roof openings and the patented Pytchley sunroof mechanism in the 1920s. Hillman even offered a sliding roof panel with glass windows on it on the 1933 Aero. Today, sunroofs, moonroofs, panoramic roofs, T-tops, or targa tops are widely available on most new vehicles, each offering something in between a fixed roof and a full convertible. Here’s how to tell the two best-known versions—moonroofs and sunroofs—apart: Are a Moonroof and a Sunroof the Same Thing? See all 5...

2021 GMC Sierra 1500 and HD First Look: Towing Upgrades, Cheaper Diesel

Just two years after the GMT T1XX-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups launched, GMC is stirring the pot with useful new features designed to relieve some of the stresses of towing a trailer. That’s a great place to innovate, given that more than half of Sierra 1500 owners and 90-plus percent of Sierra HD owners report towing regularly. And there are a few other upgrades coming for 2021 as well. Trailer Length Indicator Flip on the turn signal of a 2021 GMC Sierra and the center display will show a blind-spot view of the side you’re heading toward, just like on lots of Genesis, Honda, Hyundai, and Kia vehicles, but GMC will shade the road surface in red hashmarks to indicate the area covered by the trailer (actually, twice the length of the trailer, for safety)...

If There’s One Collection We Can’t Wait to Wear for Autumn, It’s This One

The autumn collection shown in New York in February drew inspiration from Manhattan local and ceramicist Francesca DiMattio, whose sculptures were dotted around the catwalk and who designed the statement prints for the collection in collaboration with Burch. The designer says DiMattio’s artwork “imbues the decorative with strength and power,” challenging ideas of femininity by putting a modern twist on traditionally female norms: pastel colours, beading, basket weaving, and florals, to name a few. It’s clear to see the influences in the new Tory Burch collection. Not only in the joyful colours and bricolage of prints and textures reflecting DiMattio’s mixed material techniques but also more subtly in how Burch contrasts the decorative and feminine elements with masculine silhouettes....

Sienna Miller Just Wore This Anti-Skinny Jeans Trend

In the realm of celebrities whose style we adore, Sienna Miller usually sits quite high on the list. Aside from her impeccable red carpet appearances, the actress is often spotted around town in chic casual looks which regularly consist of a refreshing mix of designer and high-street labels.  Recently, Miller was spotted in London, sporting a casual look which may have just convinced us that we need to rethink our stance on ‘mom’ jeans. Paired against a patterned-shirt and Gucci sneakers, Miller donned a pair of pleat front high-waisted blue jeans. While this style can at times look dated, Miller’s choice to go for a pair of jeans that feature a baggy silhouette and ankle-grazing length ensured the trousers maintained a contemporary feel...
