More than just a form of expression, art represents hope for many communities around the world. But unlike some "fuzzy feeling", wrote prison abolitionist Mariame Kaba, hope requires work. "You have to actually put in energy, time, and you have to be clear-eyed. And you have to hold fast to a vision." The Cultural Institute of Radical Contemporary Arts (CIRCA) was founded upon this premise back in 2020, a year in which the world was desperate for hope. Womxn in Windows is a platform with the mission to spread the ideas of underrepresented womxn (cis, trans and non-binary inclusive) through moving image. The organization was founded in 2019 by curator Zehra Ahmed as a way to showcase womxn-made art films in window storefronts, but has since developed into a larger platform that has fielded performances and installations across the U.S., including Times Square. Andy Warhol is a talent beyond pop art, often picking up his 35mm Minox camera to capture photographs of his daily surroundings, fascinations, and moments. Ever an opportunist, having a camera in hand enabled Warhol to capture now-iconic imagery, of which more than 40 are now on display at the Voyages avec Warhol exhibition, presented by Château La Coste in collaboration with Hedges Projects.Curated from the James R. Romanian artist Saul Steinberg and the renowned modernist designers Charles and Ray Eames were a natural creative blend so much so that their encounters resulted in a digital exhibition of works created during and after the time of their friendship. Together with Steinberg's wife Hedda Sterne, the group collaborated on various works from photographs to reimagined Eames chairs.After moving to Los Angeles, Steinberg and Sterne began engaging with the Eameses which sparked experimental efforts such as photographs taken at the notable Case Study House No. 8 built in Pacific Palisades.
