I Live in Leggings—7 Fresh Ways I’m Wearing Them This Year

Let’s admit it—we’ve probably spent the majority of our December in clothes that have not only kept us warm, but that likely also have featured an elasticated waistband. If not that, then we’ve been dipping our toe in the other end of the wardrobe spectrum by opting for sequins, sparkle, and embellishment. And whichever camp you’ve fallen in over the last few weeks (maybe it’s a healthy mix of both?), there’s probably only one thing on your mind when it comes to January dressing, and that’s comfort. But what if we told you there’s a way to be both comfortable and chic at the same time? Like florals for spring, but even more groundbreaking? A miraculous thought! Enter leggings. Long gone are the day...

Banksy’s Auction of Rare Rat Prints for Ukraine Targeted by “Hostile Attacks from Russia”

Last December, Banksy announced the sale of 50 rare rat screen prints to raise funds for Ukraine. The project was launched in partnership with the Legacy of War Foundation where Banksy announced the project on Instagram. The pieces, which depicted a white rat scratching out the word “FRAGILE” on what appears to be a cardboard box, were expected to be signed and numbered and sold for £5,000 GBP. With each sale, the funds will go to purchasing vehicles to evacuate the citizens of Ukraine from the war-torn country, while also providing heating to communities facing a harsh and difficult winter. However, with the registrations, the charity website alerted fans that they currently need more time to look over the number of registrations. In a statement from the website, the organization said, “W...

David Hockney to Present Latest iPad Paintings at Pace New York

At 85 years of age, David Hockney is still creating art with a childlike sense of wonder. Never ascribing to just traditional forms of art, such as painting or sculpture, Hockney’s penchant for technology has led him to cultivate a keen interest in the iPad over the past decade. Running concurrent to his new immersive exhibition in London, the acclaimed British artist is set to unveil a new solo exhibition of his iPad paintings at Pace Gallery’s 540 West 25th Street location in New York. Entitled 20 Flowers and Some Bigger Pictures, Hockney showcases iPad paintings he created while observing daily life in his Normandy home during the pandemic. The event marks the final iteration in a series of similar exhibitions that went on view at Annely Juda Fine Art in London, Galerie Lelong & Co....

Far-Right Supporters Destroyed Artworks Housed at Brazil’s Capital Building During Riots

A number of artworks were damaged as Brazilian rightwing supporters stormed the nation’s capital building this past Sunday in Brasília. In scenes eerily similar to the January 6 United States Capitol attack, supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro breached through the halls of the Oscar Niemeyer-designed Palácio do Planalto in protest of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva‘s recent presidential victory. Amongst the collection of art damaged, rioters punctured holes through Emiliano Di Cavalcanti’s vibrant Mulatas painting, which is worth around $1.5m USD. O Flautista, a bronze sculpture by Bruno Giorgi was largely destroyed and scattered throughout the third floor of the building; chairs by Jorge Zalszupin, a Polish-born Jew who survived the Holocaust and fled to Brazil subsequently becoming o...

Hennessey Burns Up the Track With 1817 Horsepower Venom F5 Revolution

Texas-based performance engineering company Hennessey has flipped the switch on the powerful Venom F5 model by turning it into a track-focused animal. Birthing the Venom F5 Revolution the new hypercar still harbors the signature strength of Hennessey’s performance. Leading the charge is a brag-worthy stat of 1,817 horsepower with a twin-turbocharged V8 powertrain competition-ready engine. Even though the Venom F5 was just as fast, the Revolution model has been outfitted with a few new updates to give it an edge over its relative. The range of enhancements includes retuned suspension, a roof-mounted air intake, digital track telemetry, improved agility and re-designed elements for aerodynamics. Another notable alteration is the group’s focus on weight reduction – making it the l...

Trust Us—These 7 Well-Being Tips Are Guaranteed Mood Boosters

As for myself, I always find the winter months a challenge, and I’m prone to feeling low when the sun disappears by 4pm—not to mention trying to wake up on dark mornings! I find I always wake up feeling groggy around this time of the year. Last year, I took the plunge and invested in a Lumi alarm clock, and it’s totally changed the game for how I start my day. If you’re not familiar with Lumi, it’s an alarm clock that mimics a sunrise to wake you up gradually. Rather than waking up to the shrill sound of my iPhone alarm, I now wake up to the gentle glow of the light, which gradually illuminates half an hour from when you want to wake up. I’m a heavy sleeper, so I’m reassured that you can also set it to make a noise during the alarm, but more often than not, I’ll wake up before my alarm chi...

I Created 5 Outfits For Every Conceivable Occasion With This Blazer–Here’s How

Full disclosure: I’m an avid jacket collector. Be it a leather bomber, a puffer or a fleece, if there’s a new jacket trend, you can bet I’ll be investing in it. White Cube Previews Its Booth at the Inaugural ART SG Fair in Singapore

The art world descends upon Singapore this week for the inaugural ART SG, which is being hailed as Southeast Asia’s largest art fair in history. Over 160 international galleries will be in attendance, including White Cube who presents paintings, sculptures and installations as part of the PLATFORM section. Amongst the 23 artists that White Cube will showcase, the gallery brings back Isamu Noguchi‘s modular Octetra play system that he first proposed for the United States pavilion for Osaka Expo ’70. “I like to think of playgrounds as a primer of shapes and functions; simple, mysterious, and evocative: thus educational. The child’s world would be a beginning world, fresh and clear,” Noguchi once said regarding the work. Theaster Gates, who was the subject of a new monograph by Phaidon, will ...

Pussy Riot Brings ‘Putin’s Ashes’ to Jeffrey Deitch LA

For the first time, feminist art collective Pussy Riot will showcase one of their radical performances in a gallery setting. Housed at Jeffrey Deitch in Los Angeles, visitors will be invited to an all balaclava affair as Pussy Riot founding member Nadya Tolokonnikova looks to further condemn Russian president Vladimir Putin in his ongoing war against Ukraine. First initiated in August 2022, Putin’s Ashes featured 12 women dressed in lingerie and balaclavas as they burned a 10 x 10-foot portrait of the Russian president in attempt to figuratively ward Putin away. Tolokonnikova used the ashes from the summer performance through a series of objects that will be presented alongside the Putin’s Ashes film that she directed, edited and scored.
