When winter hits, it’s time to pull out the big guns when it comes to outerwear. Enter, Moncler. The performance brand is renown for its coats (and boots) that’ll protect you from the harshest of elements, and celebrities including Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Dua Lipa are among some of the French label’s most-loyal fans. Founded in 1952 in a little Alpine village in France (called Monestier-de-Clermont), the label started by creating mountaineering gear such as tents, sleeping bags and a hooded cape. Putting the technical warm-weather skills into practice, the brand later launched its first down-padded coat a couple of years later in 1954. And, well, the rest shall we say, is history. Now Moncler is easily one of the most-recognised brands worldwid...
If anyone knows whether an item is worth buying or not, it’s Tracey Lea Sayer. Having been in the business of fashion for 30 years now, Lea Sayer is a style insider who says it like it is. She wants her clothes to work hard for the money and is a dab hand when it comes to hunting down timeless high-street pieces. As well as sharing her knowledge via Fabulous magazine as fashion director, she charts her own wardrobe over at @TraysLounge. Her outlook is about buying less, buying better, and restyling what you already own. This month, she shares three items she loved in her teens and has suddenly started wearing again. Over to you, Tray! I have worked in fashion for 30 years and have pretty much tried all the tre...
My first port-of-call when I’m blanking on outfit ideas? Instagram, of course. The sheer volume of fashion-savvy users regularly posting their #OOTDs means I’m guaranteed a wave of inspiration with one quick scroll. Minimum effort, maximum reward. But I don’t just use social media to find looks to recreate. It’s also a handy resource when I need guidance on what’s worth buying. Especially because, at this point, there are certain influencers I follow whose taste is top-notch every time, and I know I can trust their judgement. When I’m in a shopping rut but struggling with some serious gaps in my wardrobe, all I need to do is consult their feeds and suddenly my wish list has reached unruly lengths. The first month of the ...
Celebrities are notorious for taking risks with fashion. Events such as the Met Gala or the VMAs offer the perfect excuse to test-drive an adventurous look, but lately, I’ve been noticing celebrities wearing one particularly daring trend with no red carpet in sight. Yep, I’m talking about the underwear-as-trousers look. Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Tessa Thompson, and Bella Hadid have all experimented with the trend and generated plenty of headlines while doing so. All four women have taken different approaches to styling the trend. Tessa Thompson, for instance, wore an oversize Loewe sweater with a trench coat, while Bella Hadid went casual in underwear and Ugg boots. Meanwhile, the sisters Jenner both added tights to their underwear-as-ou...
We don’t like to brag, but with years of experience hunting down wish list-worthy buys on the high street behind them, our editors have gotten pretty good at it. And when something really special comes along, it’s only fair to shout about it, right? There are certain criteria an item has to meet to earn the Who What Wear editor-recommended stamp. Generally, the Who What Wear team favours classic pieces, versatile pieces that you can wear year after year and in multiple ways. They should be high quality and fit well, but most importantly they should bring you joy. Think thick wool knitwear, hardwearing denim and real leather (or premium vegan leather) accessories. This time around, it’s a...
I’m a magpie for warmth; give me a thick-knit jumper and a water bottle and I’m happy. But while I wait for someone to invent a wearable heated blanket, I’ve made it my mission to hunt down the cosiest combinations for this time of year. So, it isn’t surprising that when I discovered knitted sets, it felt like they had been created especially for me. But it seems the whole of the fashion world has recognised the benefits of these comfy co-ords, because I’ve been spotting them everywhere recently. Not only does double-knit keep you feeling snug (particularly if you opt for a premium material like cashmere), but your outfit will always match. That’s an added bonus for lazy dressers like me. You Deserve...
And truly, there’s no better time to do this than at the end of a year when we can all be left a little unsure of how to dress from January 1st. As we look ahead to 2023, it can help us relish in our wardrobes again, rediscovering what we already have and what might be good to invest in. I know how easy it is to let your once-exciting buys blend into the back of your wardrobe after a number of wears. But finding new ways to style them together or adding in just one fresh new item can breathe life into them and extend their use for at least another year. That’s the best part about these 17 looks—they probably involve pieces you already have. It’s really all about subtle styling tricks or an unexpected pairing that can instantly modernise your look. A lot of th...
With track-sole boots becoming virtually ubiquitous last winter, it was only a matter of time before the chunky-sole trend infiltrated other types of footwear. That’s why it hardly came as a surprise when we started seeing statement loafers launch across luxury and high-street brands. And now, it’s clear this trend is going nowhere for 2023. When it comes to designer brands, Prada has been one of the labels at the forefront of this trend. The Italian fashion house launched logo-embellished chunky loafers in 2020, garnering the attention of models and influencers including Elsa Hosk, Pernille Teisbæk and more. (The coveted style has since sold out across multiple platforms.) You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a datin...
Sometimes less is more. Even in fashion, where many can be easily drawn to ruffles, feathers, sequins and excess in general, at Who What Wear we always seem to go back to the same pared-back staples. It’s the true secret to a capsule wardrobe, I think, to have malleable elevated essentials that an be worn countless ways, to numerous occasions that look universally good when paired with pieces of all different proportions, fabrics and colours. If there’s one brand I always go back to for this, it’s The Frankie Shop. You’ll see from my instalment of our most recent Great Try-On that this isn’t a line, I love everything The Frankie Shop presents–from its cargo pants to its iconic quilted ripstop jacket. But the item I treasure most in my wardrobe? ...

Zagato has just unveiled its 100th-anniversary sports car which pays homage to its history with Alfa Romeo. Named the Giulia SWB Zagato, this one-off takes the iconic stylings of classic Alfa Romeos like the Sprint Zagato and TZ3, and updates it for 2023. Crafted for one lucky Alfa Romeo collector in Germany, the one-of-one sports car builds on the Giorgio platform and features a distinct snout, extra wide grille, carbon fiber bodywork, a dual exhaust, boomerang taillights, headlights borrowed from the Tonale, and a large clamshell hood. The car itself is powered by a six-speed, 2.9 liter twin-turbo V-6 that puts down 533 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. “In the more than the 100-year glorious history of Alfa Romeo, no other company has contributed as much as Zagato, through 100 y...
And just like that, it’s winter. Gone are the days when I could quickly nip out of the house without a jacket or a considerable amount of knitwear, and it’s time my puffer coat was taken out of storage to be put back into work. The tights are on, the layers are piling up, and I’m 100% here for it all. And while I’m not one to endlessly buy new items every time the weather changes, I do enjoy looking at new-in winter items—a lot. It takes a great deal of research to find the best coat or chicest cold-weather dress. There are so many different jumpers out there that it’s actually overwhelming to know where to begin, and that’s where my time spent scrolling will benefit you. There are a few affordable stores that are embracing all t...
