Marks & Spencer’s Sale Is So Good—21 Pieces I Have My Eye On

I’ll be honest, for a while I relied on Marks & Spencer for my bras and pyjamas without really taking the time to browse its fashion offering. But in recent years, M&S has impressed me in style department and, in turn, become one of my go-to shops for pretty much everything. And right now, their best pieces are on sale.  Marks & Spencer has carved out a place within the high-street thanks to great quality, long-lasting staples pieces as well as on-trend standouts. Whether you’re on the hunt for designer-looking boots, affordable cashmere jumpers or even a sleek party dresses, M&S covers all bases. For me, standing at 5’2″, finding trousers that don’t need a hefty hemming can be a hard feat, but ...

I’m a Fashion Expert—Here Are 30 Elevated Pieces Worth Buying This Winter

Speaking of layers—they are, of course, the key to chic cold-weather dressing. And if you invest in good classic layering items like polo necks, blazers, jeans, coats and boots you’ll be able to rewear them in different ways year after year, and through other seasons separately as well. That’s why it’s often in winter that I end up investing the most in key buys because I have confidence I’ll get my wear out of them over the years.  This year, I’m especially taken by all the gorgeous wool coats around (I told you I’m a woman obsessed), and it might be finally time for me to invest in Totême’s newly restocked fringed jacket before it sells out again. If it’s not that, then it will certainly be one of Raey’s oversized numbers, which I contin...

Triennale Milano Presents ‘1923: Past Futures’ Exhibition

Milan has a storied history within the spheres of art and design. From corner to corner, the city is rich with galleries, museums and creative minds that reflect the best of the old world and the new. As one of Milan’s leading institutions, Triennale has played a big role in showcasing the premier discourse on art and design since the museum was founded in 1923. To celebrate 100 years, Triennale is currently hosting a new exhibition entitled 1923: Past Futures — a virtual reality (VR) experience through the museum’s archives, where visitors can digitally participate in the protests of 1968, visit the Palazzo dell’Arte as it was originally conceived, enter into the mind of the building’s architect, Giovanni Muzio, and much more. “The VR experience provides an overview of history, offering v...

New Book Chronicles Previously Unseen Photographs by William Eggleston

David Zwirner has published a new book exploring previously unseen work by legendary American photographer, William Eggleston. Entitled The Outlands, Selected Works, the publication covers photographs taken between 1969 and 1974 — which laid the foundation for the themes and subject matter Eggleston would observe throughout his career. Amongst his list of accomplishments, Eggleston is widely accredited for increasing recognition for color photography. Born and largely based in Memphis, Tennessee, Eggleston spotlights the ordinary — drive-through restaurants, muscle cars and the faces and places that make up the American South. His vibrant Kodachrome images and cinematic eye for capturing rather unassuming scenes continue to inspire generations of photographers and filmmakers. “He takes ver...

Takashi Murakami Presents First Solo Exhibition in Dubai

Dubai likes to do things big. Massive skyscrapers, luxury dining, supercars, manmade islands — some of the many features that have come to symbolize the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). To inaugurate its new outpost in Dubai, Perrotin is aptly showcasing one of Japan’s most celebrated contemporary artists, Takashi Murakami, as he makes his solo exhibition debut in the region. Made in partnership with ICD Brookfield Place, the eponymously titled show presents a wide range of paintings, sculptures and installations from Murakami’s recent explorations, including new work from his Murakami.Flowers series. The exhibition opens with a suite of new iterations of Mr. DOB — the Mickey Mouse-inspired figure first imagined by the artist in 1993, that has become one of Murakami’s ...

Honestly, I Cringe Every Time I See These Shoes at the Airport

I recently took a couple of warm-weather trips to Mexico and then Los Angeles, both of which offer a significant beach culture. But in my opinion, that doesn’t make it a good idea to consistently wear the controversial sandal style that I kept seeing on people’s feet during my travels. If you’re thinking flip-flops, we’re on the same page. What kills me is that there are so many shoe styles out there that are just as easy and comfortable as flip-flops but are significantly more protective of your feet. I wanted to know how flip-flops rank on the airport practicality spectrum, so I reached out to the experts themselves and chatted to TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein and Delta travel agent Stacey Townsend. Farbstein pointed out that while you c...

10 Timeless Items French Women Have in Their Winter Wardrobes

Upon looking at these snaps, I saw a pattern begin to emerge. I realised that almost all of the French women I follow own the same core capsule wardrobe of fashion essentials. Of course, I am all too aware that this uniform may not apply to everyone in a country, but the women I’m particularly interested in all subscribe to a look I love. “French women invest in timeless pieces over trends,” confirms Marissa Cox, a French style expert and friend of Who What Wear who now resides in Paris. “Wearability is integral to a French woman’s closet, as she doesn’t tend to overdress. She looks for pieces that can be dressed up or down.” So which French fashion essentials do the country’s best dressers rely upon to ensure they look chic at all ...

I Just Spent a Week in London—11 Items Everyone Was Wearing That I Now Need Too

One of my all-time favourite things to do living in New York City is people-watch. It’s for the interactions sometimes, but mostly, it’s for the outfits. There’s simply no better way to know which trends, brands, and specific items are making waves in a particular fashion city than to spy on the locals and note the sartorial moments you spot most. Knowing that, when I was in London for a week earlier this month, I spent the majority of the trip eyeing up the looks I passed on the street. From my perch at tiny bistro tables outside of Notting Hill cafés, on benches in Hyde Park, and atop pub stools in Shoreditch, I had the perfect view for discovering every last fashion item worn by London’s finest dressers. For my detaile...

Hisashi Eguchi Presents First Solo Exhibition at Kaikai Kiki Gallery

Opening in January 2023, Kaikai Kiki Gallery will be showcasing Hisashi Eguchi’s first-ever solo exhibition with Kaikai Kiki, entitled NO MANNER. Eguchi’s artworks were first presented by Kaikai Kiki at Taipei Dandai and Art Basel Hong Kong earlier this year. Despite only exhibiting two large paintings then, the artist has since garnered a huge following for his contemporary art, which features beautiful women in a manga style. His highly-anticipated solo show will feature 15 new paintings based on the artist’s original drawings, and produced at the Kaikai Kiki Studio. Speaking on this exhibition, artist, and founder of Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd. Takashi Murakami said, “we are presenting his paintings that newly incorporate rules and methods of contemporary art into his work. The deciphering of...

Jeans, Flats and Great Coats—Katie Holmes’s Winter Capsule Is Perfection

It’s not like Katie Holmes didn’t look good before, but—and I won’t be the first one to say this—she has seriously turned her fashion game up in recent years. Whether it’s literally walking down the street in New York wearing a pair of skinny leather trousers and a cable knit jumper or ramping up the sass factor in a Saint Laurent minidress and polka-dot tights, she has wowed in the style stakes at every opportunity. And it was only recently she made a case for the dress over jeans Y2K look, and love it or hate it, Katie Holmes is definitely being experimental when it comes to her outfits.  However, it’s not all bodycon dresses and skintight pants, she’s also stayed true to her classic style. One outfit she’s recently been spotted in was a pai...

Celebs From Rihanna to Bella Hadid Rely On These 8 Watches Time and Again

Since turning 30, I feel like I’ve really entered adulthood. Not by law, but in the much, much more real sense that I now do things like take my makeup off before bed, avoid entering my overdraft and actually pay a TV licence. And because being persistently seven to 12 minutes late is a fundamental personality flaw that doesn’t belong in your 30s, I recently made the decision to invest in a watch that I intend to cherish for the rest of my life. After scouring many (and I mean many) websites, I’ve found myself looking to celebrities whose style I’ve always admired, asking myself, “If Rihanna can rock a Rolex, why can’t I?” Whilst I want a classic piece, I also want to be able to style it in a fashion-forward way. Whereas Bella Hadid, Dua Lipa and Reese Wither...
