Sneak Peek: Emily in Paris’s New Outfits Are Gloriously Over-the-Top

If three of your favorite F-words are fun, French, and fashion, then you’re probably already counting down the days until the season-three premiere of Emily in Paris—only 12 remain until Lily Collins and the amiable albeit occasionally aloof cast of characters magically appear on Netflix on December 21. Creator Darren Star has a flare for the dramatic, so while we’re not sure what that means for Emily’s relationship and career, we’re pleased to see that the costumes continue to be next-level. Marylin Fitoussi remains at the helm of the costume-and-wardrobe department, delighting viewers with Emily’s occasionally avant-garde (or perhaps just overly American) style, showcasing vibrant colors and punchy patterns mixed in with classic R...

Final Boeing 747 Leaves the Factory After 52-Year Run

After more than half a century in the skies, the 1,574th and final Boeing 747 left the original Boeing factory in Everett, Washington. Nicknamed the Queen of the Skies, the infamous Boeing 747 was the first “Jumbo Jet” and twin-aisle airliner in the world. Known for making international travel more attainable, the 747 has been flown by U.S. presidents since 1990 with two customized versions in the Air Force One fleet. For Jon Sutter, the grandson of Boeing aircraft designer and “father of the 747” Joe Sutter, it was an emotional occasion. “You think of everything that airplane has done. It’s carried the space shuttle, It’s airlifted a thousand refugees at a time. It’s actually hard to imagine the world without it,” said Sutter. “There’s not much ou...

Studio Visits: Ton Mak

“I love the Suede Mayu because it has a uniquely different, easy-going and rounded silhouette. It fits nicely with the characteristics of FLABJACKS.” What’s the inspiration for the PUMA x FLABJACKS collection? The name of this collection in Chinese is “好的⼀天”, which translates as “Have A Good Day”. I must’ve head this super simple phrase from my father-in-law and it just stuck with me. It has a nice ring to it and a positive vibe, and I wanted to spread an uplifting energy through the collection. May we all have an OK day! The collection consists of three variations of the Suede Mayu. I love the Suede Mayu because it has a uniquely different, easy-going and rounded silhouette. It fits nicely with the characteristics of FLABJACKS. The shoe has this funky proportion that makes it feel welcomi...

From Hailey Bieber’s to Rosie HW’s, These Are the Best Lob Hairstyles to Copy

When it comes to classic hairstyles, they don’t come more timeless than the lob. With less drama (and less upkeep) than an Anna Wintour–inspired bob but a little more edge than long locks, the lob is the perfect in-between hairstyle that never goes out of style. Bonus: It suits every face shape, so there’s no risk of remorse after your visit to the hairdresser. But what exactly is a lob? Well, it’s exactly what it sounds like: a long bob. It’s a one-length cut that generally sits at a mid-length, shoulder height—although, you can get away with your strands falling just a smidge above or below that. Experiment with centre and side partings to switch up how your lob looks daily, but a lob hairstyle also pairs well with a fringe—whether that’s a full, one-length ...

8 Perfect Instagram Outfits That Are So Easy to Re-Create This Winter

When it comes to getting dressed in winter, there are a lot of variables to consider. Wanting to look stylish is a given (I can say this with confidence seeing as you’ve found yourself on Who What Wear), but if you’re anything like me and you feel even the slightest temperature change deep in your bones, then being cosy is pretty high on the agenda, too. Striking the perfect balance of both, however, isn’t easy—heck, I’ve worked in fashion for almost 12 years, and even I find curating outfits for winter challenging. This is why it’s handy to have a few formulas to refer to whenever you’re lacking inspiration. I’ve been saving down such formulas on Instagram for a while now to better prepare myself for the cold snap, so why not share them with ...

I’ve Found My Perfect Party Dress (and It’s From Marks and Spencer)

I ordered it at the end of October; a beautiful navy-blue satin dress with a refined high neckline and pretty puff sleeves. I slipped it on—how flattering! I added sparkly shoes—how glam! Admittedly, I was smug. I’d found the perfect party dress at Marks and Spencer, and knowing how much you all love an M&S find, I was beyond excited to share it with you. By the time I’d taken my obligatory outfit snaps, however, it had all but sold out, save for incredibly low stock levels in a couple of sizes.  Fast-forward to December, and the dress has been almost untraceable since—as we speak, it currently has the most stock I’ve seen since I bought it, so if you love it as much as I do, click quick. Still, hope is not lost, for the brand has just released a new gold lamé it...

These Are the Only Shoes I’d Even Consider Wearing With Leggings

Leggings have always been one of fashion’s most controversial dividers. Comfort has never been the point of contention here—we can all agree that they’re just about the most enjoyable garment to wear. However, as for their style credentials? They’re often brought into question. I blame this on the ’80s, where leggings were neon, cropped and usually accompanied by clashing leg warmers. However, over recent years, leggings have made what some would call a comeback—now forming the basis of many a chic minimalist outfit and looking a little different than their ’80s heyday. Now, classic black or neutral leggings are pretty much the only way forward if you intend to wear them out of the gym. And in weighted fabrics, they look and feel signi...

New Book Chronicles 20 Years of Theaster Gates

Theaster Gates defies categorization. Part artist, activist, social planner and cultural historian, the Chicago native creates dialogues between past and present through films, sculptures and installations that probe into the United States’ history with race, inequality and ownership. To add to its holiday releases, Phaidon has published a new monograph examining Gates’s impact on the art world today. Entitled Young Lords and Their Traces, the book was published in conjunction with the New Museum‘s mid-career retrospective on the artist, which opened last month and will run through February 5, 2023. The hardcover book spans 280 pages, including 200 photos and illustrations, covering the past 20 years of Gates’s career as a social sculptor, organizer, improviser, and preservationist. Edited...

Biggie Smalls Statue Unveils by Brooklyn Bridge

The Notorious B.I.G. has been immortalized through a new statue in Brooklyn. More than just a statue, however, the nine-foot stainless steel artwork features solar-powered speakers that plays a mix specially curated by DJ Mister Cree, who is hailed as one of the early figures who spotted Biggie Smalls’ talent. Dubbed Sky’s the Limit in the County of Kings, the work is the brainchild of artist Sherwin Banfield who told Artnet News that he is a “traditionally trained figurative sculptor and wanted to take something classic then remix or sample it with something new and fresh.” Having first sketched out a statue dedicated to the hip hop legend, Banfield initially nixed any plans to bring it to life until his cousin told him about an open call for a new artwork that stood at the entrance of th...
