Acura has just revealed further details of its upcoming 2024 Integra Type S. Sharing some similarities as the Honda Civic Type R, including the turbocharged 2.0L engine, limited-slip differential, and six-speed manual transmission, the Type S is set to make more than 300 horsepower. Teased with a set of images showing the sports car all wrapped up in camouflage vinyl, fans were quick to pick up on the triple exhaust, wider body, and increased wheel size when compared to the standard version. Set to go on sale next summer, more details are set to release early next year. In other automotive news, Tesla is reportedly redesigning the Model 3 to cut production costs. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the automotive industry’s benchmark for luxury and technology — if you need reminding, check out the time Hypebeast got behind the wheel of the latest generation S500. And while this is of the utmost importance for an S-Class, the skunkworks AMG division can’t help but get its oily fingers all over Mercedes-Benz‘s cars, resulting in what you see above: the all-new Mercedes-AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE. With the big clue in its name, this S 63 comes with a four-liter bi-turbo V8 engine that’s paired with a rear-powering electric motor, combined putting out 791 HP — the most of any S-Class ever. Additionally, the hybrid unit produces 1,055 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to send the car to 60 MPH in 3.2 seconds before going on to a ...
Whether driving the three-wheel Polaris Slingshot through the Garden of the Gods or the suburbs to run daily errands — let it be known — you are making a statement. A loud one. Polaris’ 2023 Slingshot model year lineup unleashes an army of neon-painted, three-wheeler autocycles, starting with its base model, the Slingshot S, followed by the Slingshot SL, Slingshot SLR and Slingshot R. The Slingshot’s appeal — aside from its superhero-esque appearance — is its synergy with the elements and proximity to nature: pebbles flying just a few centimeters below the windshield, the scent of passing environments, like the BBQ joint on the corner or the smell of engine smoke, and the exposed road, merely inches away from your body, suddenly an optical illusion at 70 mph. A tight turn in its open-air c...
Multifaceted artist Elliot Fox is gearing up to present his latest exhibition, “PSYCHO GEOLOGY.” The immersive showcase curated by Georgia Stephenson sees the artist continue to explore his Cornish background through a fictional viewpoint, turning to science fiction for inspiration. Fox looks to the Neolithic period and aims to unlock west Cornwall’s socio-economical history by dissecting its unruly scientific background. From folklore traditions to the creation of surf culture and the county’s industrial legacy, mounted hybrid sculptures channel Cornwall’s lively scenery, while unused surfboards are molded into experimental panels that nod to the ocean-based practice and the 1980s surf subculture in the English region. The emerging artist also presents a series of UV-printed digital artwo...
Acclaimed German artist Gregor Hildebrandt partnered with THE SKATEROOM on a custom set of 10 unique music-inspired decks. Made in collaboration with Almine Rech and Kunsthalle Praha, the project imbues Hildebrandt’s longstanding belief that “there is a fundamental connection between art and skateboarding.” “The art of skateboarding is about how it looks when you do a trick particularly well or when you just roll with the skateboard. I’m very happy that I’m able to make skateboards for THE SKATEROOM, because when I was skateboarding myself, I always thought about how a skateboard should look aesthetically,” the artist said in a statement. More often than not these days, dressing for a red carpet event is all about the spectacle, even more so than the quality of the outfit. Mostly made up of over-the-top looks crafted to become viral moments, the practice of understated elegance has become something of a lost art at major events. Luckily, we can always count on Selena Gomez and her stylist Kate Young to err on the side of better, not bigger. Nowhere was this proven more than at Variety‘s 2022 Hitmakers brunch, which took place this weekend in Los Angeles. For the event, which Dua Lipa and H.E.R. also attended, the Only Murders in the Building star chose a midi-length little black dress made of extremely seasonally appropriate velvet and formalised with a sculptural, ruffled hem. Desig...
Who doesn’t love being complimented on their fragrance? It’s a nice feeling, but when you’re choosing a scent, it should be because you like it—even if no one else does. “This installation was originally meant to be called tainted aura,” explains Laurent. “When you receive compliments when you wear a perfume, it’s not really about the scent, it’s your aura,” she says. In other words, it’s about how you wear the scent, not the scent wearing you. “An aura is what you are radiating, the perfume and yourself,” she says. “If you wear a perfume that you really love and brings you joy, then you feel really exceptional and confident it changes how you radiate, it changes your aura. This is what perfume can bring, it’s tota...
Art Basel just celebrated 20 years in Miami Beach and the fair was everything that has come to be expected. Celebrities, insiders, pretend-insiders, lavish gowns and a general sense of confusion as to the ground layout, which at times felt like a maze. While it’s difficult to truly experience art in an intimate sense at any fair, the sheer amount of legendary work on display was truly remarkable and worth the voyage. Highlights of this year’s edition were plentiful — starting with arguably the most talked about installation, MSCHF‘s ATM Leaderboard. As the title implies, fairgoers inserted their debit cards, subsequently prompting the machine to take their picture and rank their balance amongst contestants. “ATM Leaderboard is an extremely literal distillation of wealth-flaunting impulses,...
In my opinion Me + Em does winter best with beautiful-quality outerwear, functional knits and clever layering pieces that are all classic, with just enough design-led details to make them look really premium. Sometimes with a lesser-known brand, though, it can be hard to know what the pieces look and feel like in real life, especially if you live outside of London and aren’t able to get to a store. So just as we head into the cold season, I thought I’d pop in on my lunch break and try Me + Em’s best new winter pieces to review and report back. I wasn’t disappointed—in fact, I’d go so far as to say I was really impressed, especially with the denim, which I’d never tried before. There were also some chic bouclé jackets and cosy knitted co-ords that wouldn’t look out of place in a ...
If you feel like your DIY manicures never look as perfect as your professional ones, listen up. According to both Bamber and Tucker, not tidying up is the number one mistake they spot among clients who have attempted an at-home manicure. “It’s also one of the easiest to avoid, but believe it or not it still happens,” says Bamber. “Leaving specks of polish on the surrounding areas of your nails will make them look messy and if you’re using gel, will most likely make them lift.” When applying polish to your nails, Bamber recommends doing a single swipe down the centre of your nail to start, followed by a swipe on either side (overlapping if needed) and avoiding getting too close to the edge of your nails. “It’s always better to leave a tiny gap than to get polish on your skin,” she say...
