LEE YUNSUNG has just debuted his latest body of work at Marseille, France’s Gallery Jo Yana. Born in 1985, LEE YUNSUNG’s work encapsulates a lot of his childhood memories — manga and anime being part of those fond experiences. Filtering out the eroticism and violence often found in anime, LEE’s work captures the pop aspect of the subject nature. Marking his first solo exhibition in France, “ZODIAC” sees 12 vivid portraits that represent the constellations. Each character contains traits and personalities associated with their respective zodiac signs. The oil on canvas paintings compliments one another where the show culminates into a large 182x218CM piece depicting Pisces, Aquarius, and Capricorn. Those in Marseille can catch LEE YUNSUNG’s “ZODIAC” at: Gallery Jo Yana41 rue MongrandMarseil...

Just last month, Damon Sharpe released his tech house cover of Beyoncé’s 2004 hit, “Naughty Girl.” The track is wildly infectious with its pumping bassline, quirky synths and sultry vocals from Tima Dee. Now, Sharpe has dropped the official “Naughty Girl” music video, a celebration of shuffling. Featuring popular dancers and shape-cutters CiCi, Janeeva Pettway and Adrian Campos, among others, the video is a vibrant ode to rave fashion and culture. Directed by Éli Sokhn, the video takes place in a math classroom with Sharpe as the teacher. Bored by his math lessons, the students turn off the lights and transform the room into a club, erupting into a dancing frenzy as the chalkboard changes from “MATH101” to “PARTY101.” Swapping sc...
One week ago, a group of Iranian artists teamed up with Woman Life Freedom, Hank Willis Thomas‘s nonprofit For Freedoms and JR to raise awareness to the humanitarian crisis that has persisted in Iran for the past three months. The project, entitled Eyes on Iran, was timed to coincide with the United Nation’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Amongst the talks and site-specific pieces unveiled on Roosevelt Island, acclaimed Iranian-born, New York-based artist Shirin Neshat unveiled a massive mural of an eye symbolically pointing at the U.N. The latest installations, which displayed on December 3 to 4, saw Mahvash Mostala, Hank Willis Thomas and Wide Awakes collaborate on flyover banners featuring the Iranian protest slogan, “Woman Life Freedom” emblazoned around an eye. The Fashion Awards 2022, presented by Diet Coke, is taking place at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall. Guiding us through the proceedings is host Jodie Turner-Smith, the British and Jamaican activist and actress who has been wowing us with her incredible ensembles, both on and off the red carpet, of late. Tonight is no exception, stealing the show in a lime Gucci extravaganza! Gorgeous doesn’t cut it. Alongside Turner-Smith, plenty of British fashion icons turned out and were on equally impressive form; Alexa Chung is a Fashion Awards regular and, for 2022’s outing, she carried the crystal Prada shoulder bag we’ve seen so frequently on Instagram. Florence Pugh was another highlight as she channelled the Hollywood siren she was born to be in crims...

Rough Crafts has unveiled its latest creation “Cosmos Charger”, a custom bike based on Harley-Davidson’s Street Bob in celebration of the gaming hardware manufacturer, Cooler Master’s 30th anniversary. Unlike Rough Crafts’ usual retro aesthetics, the “Cosmos Charger” was intended to have more of a futuristic and sci-fi edge. The project was headed by Winston Yeh, founder of Rough Crafts, who reimagines a 2020 Street Bob in a boxy armor integrated with purple LED lights to echo Cooler Master’s signature computer cases. Yeh worked with long-term collaborator, SFC Simon Fiber Craft to wrap individual parts in carbon fiber that creates a sleek marbled effect. The iconic purple headlights are supplied by Koso, while CNC aluminum fins grace the middle of the fairing, going over the top of the ta...
The UN reported in 2018 that the world produces over 400m tonnes of plastic waste per year. Despite current recycling efforts, up to half of that amount ends up in rivers and oceans which can last for centuries. In collaboration with Indonesian hospitality brand Potato Head, Futura has unveiled two new Pointman statues to usher a sense of urgency around pollution. The first statue was put on display in Singapore and was made using 4,300 black and white grocery bags that were collected by environmental advocates, Sungai Watch. The second, which is set to open tomorrow, December 6, was constructed using everything from motor oil bottles to discarded water gallon lids sourced by community organization, Yayasan Kakikita and will be displayed at the OMA-designed Potato Head Studios. Futura’s sc...
Cleon Peterson is back with two new series of prints that comment on power, lust and vengeance. The prints, titled MY LOVE IS VENGEANCE and NEVER WIN, NEVER LOSE, features the Los Angeles-based artist’s signature humanoid figures in a violent tussle. In the former, what appears to be a male figure violently dominates a female counterpart with his arms outstretched ready to strike with a dagger in hand. The latter artwork pits two male figures that seem to be in a stalemate in trying to best one another. The artist has long been vocal on his stance against the rise of totalitarian around the world. Recently, he worked with People for the American Way on two striking billboards before the US midterm elections which raised awareness to the threats of White supremacy, gun violence and attacks ...
