I’m Not a Heels Person, But These Affordable Platforms Have Won Me Over

‘Tis (almost) the season for sparkles, sequins and donning your shortest party dresses. But no good festive outfit is complete without an excellent pair of shoes. Whether you’re a luxe-flats or highest-heels kind of person, the right footwear can make any outfit feel special enough to dance the night away in.  So when I was scrolling through H&M’s new-in section this weekend and came across its block-heel Mary Jane platforms—possibly the most fabulous pair of heels I think I’ve ever seen on the high street—I knew I had to share them with you all as soon as possible. They come in two options, silver glitter or classic black, so minimalists and maximalists alike will adore them. And—bear with me here—I think they actually look comfortable, with a closed round to...

Winter 2022 Fashion Trends: The 16 Looks You Need to Know About

The overarching mood of winter 2022’s fashion trends can be summed up in one word: Nostalgia. Now, nostalgia comes in many different forms depending on your age, experiences and interests. Whatever you might associate with happier, simpler times has likely been translated to the runways for the upcoming season because the creative collectives in New York, London, Milan and Paris have all been feeling that desire for a better life. Designers powered through the past two pandemic years with optimism, channelling their energies in quite literal pick-me-up trends such as dopamine dressing—a hashtag that continues to garner attention on almost all social platforms—but with the easing up of restrictions and a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, more varied s...

We don’t want to alarm you, but it’s only a matter of weeks until Christmas rolls around. Of course, you’ve no doubt been preparing for this since August, right? (Well no, actually, we haven’t either.) Given the number of parties, dinners and Christmas ads on TV, it’s officially the start of the festive season, and we’re ready to welcome it with open arms. The colder days and darker nights have been the excuses we needed to slip into cosy mohair knits and knee-high boots, and thanks to the recent drop of autumn and winter collections, we’ve been treated to a particularly stylish season thus far. But when it comes to preparing for the big day, there’s more than just our current wardrobes to think about. So if you’re frantically searching...

I Can’t Stop Looking at Princess Diana’s Most Epic Party Outfits

Countless exhibitions, a plethora of books, and many, many a Who What Wear UK article all serve as proof that the world has an infatuation with Princess Diana’s style. This year, our obsession reaches yet another peak thanks to Elizabeth Debicki’s spot-on portrayal of the beloved icon in the most recent season of The Crown.  It’s clear, from the moment Diana stepped into the royal spotlight that her looks would be put under the sartorial microscope, however, the fascination still remains today. Looking back, it’s fair to say that she was one of the most progressive dressers of her time (not to mention lineage). You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. Banksy Confirms Seven New Murals in Ukraine

Following the reveal of the gymnast graffiti in Ukraine, elusive British artist Banksy has also confirmed seven other pieces in the war-torn country. The seven murals have popped up in various locations around Ukraine including in the capital Kyiv, in the suburb of Irpin and the town of Borodyanka – all of which are amongst some of the hardest hit places. In the past few weeks, it was speculated that the anonymous artist might have found their way into the country. Those in the country documented sightings of a mural that depicts a man that appears to resemble Russian President Vladimir Putin thrown to the floor in a judo match with a young boy, where as another sees two children using a tank trap as a seesaw and a woman in a dressing gown and hair curlers, wearing a gas mask holding a fir...

An Immersive Hockney Exhibition Will Open in London

David Hockney is the latest artist to have his own immersive exhibition. Unlike many similar themed shows, however, the artist will have an active part in shaping the narrative of this project. “They are just using Van Gogh and Monet, and they’re dead. They can’t add anything to it,” Hockney joked. “Well, I’m still alive, so I can make things work better.” Opening in January 2023 at the Lightroom in Kings Cross, David Hockney: Bigger & Closer (not smaller & further away) takes visitors on an immersive trip down memory lane, revisiting some of his most iconic paintings. The show is broken down into six chapters where the artist himself narrates and guides the audience through 50 minutes of wall-to-wall monitors projecting an ethereal display of colors. “The world is very, very beaut...

I Just Tried This Year’s Biggest Lip Trend—These Are My Honest Thoughts

Lip oils are designed to nourish and hydrate lips, so they’re perfect if you’re prone to dry, chapped lips. From a skincare perspective, they’re basically like a serum for your lips, but they also happen to make lips look plump and glossy in the process. Most are formulated with moisture-replenishing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and plant-based oils, which help to keep lips smooth and soft and prevent them from getting cracked or flaky. If you find that regular cream or liquid lipsticks leave your lips feeling tight and dry, then a lip oil can be a great alternative, especially as many of them are tinted. They tend to leave a much glossier, shinier finish than a lipstick, but unlike lip gloss, they don’t feel heavy or leave a sticky residue. You Deserve to Make Money Even...

Studio VATRAA Installed A Plastic Stonehenge in Milan

Milan is roughly 4,343 miles away from Stonehenge, but there is a new art installation that brings the prehistoric monolith to the bustling streets of Milan. Well, sort of. Created by London architecture studio VATRAA, the Plastic Monument is a reinterpretation of England’s ancient trilithons. As the winning entry to National Geographic’s 2019 competition, “Planet or Plastic?”, the studio created the installation by encasing 16,000 plastic bottles in a wire frame to implore viewers to reflect on the impact of plastic pollution. “We could argue that plastic waste is our legacy to many generations to come,” said the studio in a statement, adding that “the monument draws the attention to the consequences of our actions in the long run, to the fact that what we are doing today might stay on Ea...
