Add a pair of 10-denier tights and see how much longer you’ll last. And not to worry if you’re not ...

Largely Forgotten Painting Turns Out to Be Genuine Artwork by Rembrandt

For years, experts at The Hague’s Museum Bredius dismissed an oil painting for a true piece by Rembrandt, thinking that it was merely produced by a follower of the Dutch master. First reported by The Guardian, Johanneke Verhave, along with fellow researcher, Jeroen Giltaij, who serves as the chief curator of old paintings at Rotterdam’s Boijmans Van Beuningen museum, closely studied the painting — titled The Raising of the Cross, which was created in the 1640s. “The quality of the details are so well done that I am convinced that this is a Rembrandt,” Giltaij told The Guardian. The painting was first brought to the museum in 1921 by Abraham Bredius, who was convinced of its authenticity. Due to the lack of detail in the painting’s brushstrokes, the work was largely scoffed at by experts at...

The 2022 ADAA Art Show Is Back at New York’s Park Avenue Armory

The Art Dealers Association of America’s (ADAA) annual The Art Show is back in full swing. This year’s edition boasts 78 different exhibitors, including 55 solo exhibitions from around the world – the most in the fair’s history. Now in its 60th anniversary, The Art Show may not come with the spectacle that is offered at larger events, such as Art Basel or Frieze, but it still remains a great place to witness art and leave inspired. Amongst the list of exhibitor’s at the 2022 edition, Cristin Tierney Gallery will present multilayered compositions from Joe Fig’s The Contemplation Series. Additionally, James Fuentes and curator Hilton Als will showcase paintings by the late Trinidadian actor and artist, Geoffrey Holder — which the gallery is currently featuring a new exhibition in full a...

6 British Trends French Girls Have Adopted As Their Own

We talk a great deal about French style, and we talk a great deal about British style, but we talk very little about how the two aesthetics combine. Of course, boundaries of fashion aren’t set in stone, but, generally speaking, there are some pieces that feel distinctly more French and some that loan themselves more to the British dressing adroit. You might think these fall into cliché territory—berets for Parisians, Chelsea boots for Londoners, for example. Thinking that only people from the countries where these fashion items originate wear them is silly—of course, that’s not the case. However, it got me thinking about which clothing French girls love to wear has a British heritage, and vice-versa. Today, I’m going to explore the former. Below you’ll fin...

The One Style of Knitwear I Wear More Than Any Other in Winter

Whether it’s because of our communal craving for all things cosy or a continuation of the comfortably chic cottagecore trend, the cable-knit jumper has fast become a wintry go-to in the wardrobes of some of  fashion’s finest. Offering plenty of hand-spun, artisanal appeal, it’s a knitwear trend that I end up wearing more than any other in the winter months, and not just because it’s one of the easiest ways to add texture to a simple outfit.   You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. 29 Impressive High-Street Puffer Coats That Are Perfect for Autumn

Puffer coats have long been considered practical. But stylish? Thanks to a host of designer interpretations of the cosy, borderline-ugly outerwear, they’ve become something of a fashion-insider must-have. Arguably, it was 2020 when the puffer coat’s sartorial status really reached its peak. Socialising outdoors was considered the norm, and the likes of Bottega Veneta and Totême created very special puffer coats, the majority of which swiftly made their way to the top of many an editor’s and influencer’s wish list.  Since then, the duvet coat became essential for many of us—and not just those with budgets for the designer versions. In February, according to global fashion search platform Lyst, searches for “duvet coat” rose quickl...

Collectors: Jarl Mohn

“I think the best advice I’ve heard from a lot of people is: you should collect what it is you love, you should learn it.” Are those sounds just the installation? Those are the white lights. There’s a series of LED lights that provide color and another series of white lights that are incandescent lights that provide pure white light. There are two rows and when the white lights heat up, they start to expand and that’s the clicking you hear. Notice how blue it is now? When we opened it, which was exactly — which is hard to believe — exactly six minutes ago. I would have described the color as being a very soft cloud white and now it’s blue — an eggshell blue. Do you come to this room everyday or week? Oh no, I would say maybe a couple times a month. I actually prefer to do it when I’ve got ...

I’ve Tried Dozens of Skin Supplements—These Are The 7 That Make A Difference

In fact, according to Perretta, it can take at least three months before the benefits become visible. “Each supplement is unique and everyone is different, so some individuals start to see results earlier,” she says. It goes without saying that consistency and commitment pay off, so don’t make the mistake I initially did of disregarding a supplement because you finished your 30-day supply without noticing a complete transformation.  Some might argue that the nutrients provided by food should suffice, and of course a diet naturally rich in vitamins and minerals is ideal, but it’s not always achievable. “Diets low in fruits and vegetables, omega 3 fatty acids, and high in refined carbohydrates, saturated fat, and salt may cause abnormalities to our skin structure and function,” ex...
