Acclaimed British sculptor Sir Antony Mark David Gormley OBE has unveiled a new solo exhibition at Xavier Hufkens in Brussels. Housed at the gallery’s recently renovated St-Georges space, BODY FIELD presents a suite of new work that invite audiences to bring their bodies into a field of “sculpture as an instrument for awareness”. Since the 1960s, Gormley has investigated the relationship between the body to space, by in some instances, using his own body as a blueprint to create minimal sculptures that probe questions pertaining to human emotion and its correlation to nature. Deceptively minimal, each of his sculptures, such as PRESS (2021), NEST (2021) and CORNER (2022), provide visual building blocks that the audience is encouraged to metaphysically piece together using their own bodily ...
Every dress purchase deserves careful consideration, but none to the same degree as your wedding dress. You’ll wear it for just one day (unless you plan to rework it later on), yet it will probably be the most photographed item you ever wear. And if 1980s brides and their taffeta popcorn-sleeve dresses have taught us anything, it’s that some trends can wind up feeling a little outdated. There’s something to be said for embracing the trends of an era, and you might enjoy looking back with fondness for fashion gone by. But if you’re fearful of one day cringing at the dress in your wedding pictures, stick to a classic design. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a d...
Second, let’s address the shade offering. With a very impressive 30 shades, it’s safe to say that Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint is one of the more shade-diverse skin tints out there. While other brands opt for a more restricted, “stretchable,” shade offering, Ilia’s plentiful shade offering rivals some top foundation brands. However (and sadly there is a however), it’s worth noting that Sephora’s current shade offering is limited, with 17 of the 30 shades unavailable—and one of my beauty-editor pals struggled to find a shade that works for her olive skin tone. “I couldn’t find a shade in Sephora at all. There’s quite a big jump between each one in the olive-mid brown section,” she said. It’s also worth...
Aaron Johnson and Case Studyo are back with new limited-edition sculptures inspired by the artist’s ghostly characters. Similar to True Believer and Soul Sister, Ghost Trio further explores Johnson’s benevolent spirits through the possibilities of luminous glass. Based in Brooklyn, Johnson is well-known for creating large color-field paintings that appear abstract from a glance, but reveal monstrous expressions upon further inspection. Like his fluid application of paint, glass was a fitting medium for the artist to capture the aura of his brooding ghosts — which Johnson has described in the past, as “a kind presence, with her three eyes wide open and reaching into other dimensions.” Ghost Trio is a set of three hand-blown sculptures in crystal clear, juicy ruby and ectoplasmic green. As a...
Working out of the Good Luck NYC shop in Brooklyn, Henbo Henning is the tattoo artist known for his unique style that merges American and Japanese traditional motifs. Henbo recently unveiled his first-ever custom sneaker made in collaboration with Queens-based art collective, roosi. Entitled FLAME GHOST 1, the low-top silhouette features original custom artwork by the artist. Monsters from Japanese folklore, ghosts and amphibious creatures are scattered throughout the shoe. For specs, pebbled leather is observed on the white toe box and heel counter. The artist’s tonal black ‘Flame Ghost’ iconography is prominently stitched on the lateral and medial sides of the shoe with black accents continuing across the ankle collar and outsoles for an anchored finish. Rounding out the design is a one-...

While we’ve seen various eVTOL concepts beginning to take form with relatively near-term target dates for real-world application, Samson Sky‘s Switchblade stands out as a unique concept thanks to its compact, classic design which appears in bright red. The Switchblade is able to transform from a road-legal car to a full-fledged miniature aircraft in just three minutes and as the name suggests, its wings and tail are collapsible, allowing the vehicle to fit in regular garages. In terms of performance, the Switchblade is reportedly capable of reaching speeds of 200 mph with a cruise speed of 160 mph and a maximum driving speed of 125 mph. Auto-pilot and regenerative braking are included while a reverse thrust feature emulates a parachute during hairier landing conditions. Modern ...
The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is rooted on the racetrack. Initially designed as the automaker’s entry to the 1952 racing season, the luxury soft-top automobile was such a hit that Mercedes adapted it for sports car enthusiasts just two years later, debuting the 1954’s road-going SL-Class. While the new iteration of the car was modified to abide by street legal standards, Mercedes-Benz hung on to its “SL” designation, a derivative from the German Sport-Leicht, meaning Sport Light. Nearly 70 years later, Mercedes-Benz (in tandem with its AMG division) has returned to its roots with an SL model outfitted for the modern era: the 2022 Mercedes-AMG SL Roadster. The all-new soft top vehicle retains signature design elements of the iconic 1954 original, while adapting to run on race tracks and highwa...
If you thought Miu Miu’s ballet flats were good, just wait until you see the brand’s grungy new boots that everyone during Paris Fashion Week was breaking in between shows. Also from Miu Miu’s much-talked-about A/W 22 collection, the engineer-style boots are the complete and utter opposite of the dainty, pretty flats that hit viral status immediately following last season’s show in February. Made of thick, distressed leather (classic engineer boots are known for this since the material is so durable) and adorned with an array of metal harnesses and buckles, Miu Miu’s boots are quickly becoming fashion’s next It item. But Prada’s little-sister brand isn’t the only one getting in on this trend. On the contrary...
In Hailey Bieber’s video, she shares how she preps her skin for makeup. She highlights how she loves to use Weleda Skin Food to give her makeup extra radiance. “They way I really get that it is by layering the right products underneath my makeup,” she says. “I like to get like a richer, heavier cream and just put that in some spots where I feel like I get more dry, and where I want a little more sheen and highlight under the makeup.” She goes on to say how many makeup artists she works with use the Weleda Skin Food for makeup prep. “I know it’s a little heavy for some people,” she says, “but I feel like it does the trick that I’m wanting,” while placing it onto her cheekbones, forehead and a dab onto her chin. Created in 192...
We talk a lot about timeless wardrobe essentials—pieces that could comfortably live in your closet for a decade or longer. While many items fall into this elite category—camel coats, biker jackets, exquisite tailoring and a little black dress, to name but a few—none feel quite so classic as a bouclé jacket. First conceptualised by Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel way back in the 1950s, the bouclé jacket drew inspiration from menswear tailoring—something that informed many of Chanel’s designs at the time. Its signatures include a boxy silhouette, contrast trims and, yes, a bouclé fabrication, something that has endured and become synonymous with the French fashion house ever since. Today, the bouclé jacket is indicative of power dressing; this, I believe, is the ...
