Alt-pop singer d4vd has been arrested on murder charges in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was found in his impounded Tesla in September 2025.
d4vd (whose real name is David Anthony Burke) was taken into custody Thursday and is being held without bail.
Rivas Hernandez’s decomposed remains were discovered inside a bag in the front trunk of the Tesla on September 8th. The vehicle, registered to the artist, was parked at a Hollywood tow yard when the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of a foul odor. Rivas Hernandez was later identified through forensic testing. Authorities noted she had a distinctive “Shhh” tattoo on her right index finger, which matches one of d4vd’s own tattoos.
When announcing the discovery, the LAPD said it was “very likely” that Rivas Hernandez had been “dead for several weeks” before her body was found, noting the Tesla had been parked in the same location for that duration before being towed.
