System of a Down guitarist-singer Daron Malakian has released the new album Addicted to the Violence from his band Scars on Broadway, along with a music video for the song “Destroy the Power.”

“I’m just as proud of Scars as I am of System of a Down,” stated Malakian in a press release. “This is another musical outlet for me. I think it’s some of the best stuff I have to offer. I’m blessed that I can still do this and write songs every day.” Addicted to the Violence is a rollercoaster of aggression, vulnerability, satire, and soul.”

Malakian wrote and performed all the songs on the album, with contributions from Scars on Broadway bandmates Orbel Babayan (guitar) and Roman Lomtadze (drums).

The video for “Destroy the Power” stars Paula “Bunny” Flores as an exotic dancer, and was co-directed by Malakian and Lorenzo Diego Carrera.

The new Scars on Broadway album arrives just over a month before System of a Down play a series of North American stadium shows, including two-night stands August 27th and 28th at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey (with Korn); August 31st and September 1st at Soldier Field in Chicago (with Avenged Sevenfold); and September 3rd and 5th at Rogers Stadium in Toronto (with Deftones). Tickets for those concerts are available here.
