
Demond Wilson, who played Lamont Sanford on the hit NBC sitcom Sanford and Son, has died at the age of 79.
TMZ reports that the actor passed away on Friday, January 30th, from complications related to cancer.
Wilson portrayed Lamont Sanford, the son of Redd Foxx’s Fred Sanford, on all six seasons of Sanford and Sons from 1972 and 1977. He later starred as Oscar Madison on The New Odd Couple, ABC’s early-’80s update of The Odd Couple, before stepping back from acting to become an ordained minister.
