Acclaimed comedy series English Teacher has been picked up for Season 2 at FX, despite recent sexual assault allegations against creator Brian Jordan Alvarez.
One of the best TV shows of 2024, English Teacher also stars Alvarez alongside a cast that includes Stephanie Koenig, Enrico Colantoni, Sean Patton, and Carmen Christopher.
FX Entertainment president Nick Grad confirmed the renewal with a statement that didn’t mention the allegations: “English Teacher was one of the most critically acclaimed new shows of 2024 and we are grateful to the producers, writers, cast, directors, and crew for the show’s creative excellence. We look forward to the new season.”

News of English Teacher Season 2 comes after a December 2024 Vulture report in which Alvarez’s former co-star Jon Ebeling detailed allegations of misconduct on and off the set of the webseries The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo.
At the time of the report’s publishing, an FX spokesperson said, “We reviewed the allegations presented to us by another media outlet prior to the show’s launch. Mr. Ebeling never reached out to us with any concerns. We will have no further comment at this time.”
