Erykah Badu has released a 25th anniversary reissue of her classic sophomore album, Mama’s Gun.
The limited edition drop features several variants, including an Apple Red Amazon exclusive, Gold Black Ice vinyl, and a hi-res remaster Vinylphyle edition sourced from the original production tapes.

Each 2xLP includes new liner notes penned by Badu. The reissues were pressed on 180g Black Vinyl and cut by Joe Nino-Hernes at Sterling Sound Nashville.
Released in November 2000 as the follow-up to Badu’s breakout 1997 debut album, Baduizm, Mama’s Gun features “Bag Lady,” her first Top 10 entry on the Billboard Hot 100. The hit nabbed Grammy nods for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song. “Didn’t Cha Know” is another fan favorite from the album.

Last year, Badu previewed her first album in 15 years, Abi & Alan, while on tour with the project’s producer, The Alchemist. Teased by the June 2025 single “Next to You,” the album missed its original August 29th release date and is expected to arrive sometime this year.
