Everything We Loved in Music This Week: February 6

Two big comebacks dominate this week’s new music headlines: J. Cole‘s The Fall-Off and Joji‘s Piss In The Wind.

What might mark Cole’s final album, and what indicates Joji’s first album not under 88rising, both projects have been communally anticipated across the music scene.

In the fashion ether, Dave fronts the new Wales Bonner campaign, with Larry June landing an adidas Adistar Control 5 collaboration, and LISA stunting on everyone in the new NOCTA x Chrome Hearts.

New singles come from Feng and Arlo Parks, among others, with new updates stemming from Nettspend and Brent Faiyaz. Find this month’s full playlist below, and this week’s full lineup underneath.

Joji Returns with Piss In The Wind

For his first long-form release in over three years, Joji has unveiled Piss In The Wind. Marking his fourth studio album, Piss In The Wind, despite a doppelgänger-fronted press run, is incredibly true to form for Joji. The 21-song LP also marks his first release not under the 88rising label, and includes features from Yeat, Don Toliver, 4Batz, and GIVĒON.

J. Cole’s The Fall-Off Is Here

The rapper’s penultimate opus is here. Clocking in at 24 tracks – two discs of 12 each – The Fall-Off is a fusing of J.Cole’s entire discography and narrative arc. If this is the final Cole chapter, to say he closed out with a bang would be an understatement.

Brent Faiyaz Reveals ICON Is Dropping Next Week

What a journey it’s been to follow this album. Brent Faiyaz’s long-awaited ICON album was initially slated to drop last September, before the musician ultimately scrapped about half of the project to re-record it. Earlier in the week, Faiyaz took to Instagram to casually share that the project is, in fact, dropping next Friday.
