Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao Set for Rematch at Las Vegas Sphere, Airing on Netflix

Boxing legends Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. and Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao are set for a rematch more than a decade after the “Fight of the Century.” Taking place on Saturday, September 19th, it will mark the first boxing match held at Las Vegas Sphere. This time, it won’t be televised through PPV, but will instead stream live on Netflix.

“Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history,” Pacquiao said in a statement. “The fans have waited long enough — they deserve this rematch, and it will be even bigger now that it will be streamed live globally on Netflix. I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him.” Mayweather insisted that this match will be the “same result” as their first one, when he beat Pacquiao.

Though Pacquiao has stayed semi-active in the ring over the past decade with eight fights, Mayweather last boxed professionally in August 2017, coming out victorious over Conor McGregor in what was billed as his “last fight.” However, Mayweather has fought in exhibition bouts against Logan Paul, MMA fighter John Gotti III, and others. Last September, Mayweather and Mike Tyson also announced they would face off in an exhibition match this spring.
