Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist are officially set to release their new album Alfredo 2 on July 25.
This announcement follows cryptic teasers and a special advance screening of Alfredo: The Movie in Los Angeles and the debut of the opening track, “1995.” Directed by Nick Walker and filmed in Japan, Alfredo: The Movie offers a mysterious look into the Alfredo 2 universe. The film portrays Gibbs and The Alchemist as partners navigating a gritty, stylized criminal underworld, operating from a ramen shop while seemingly laundering money. This cinematic reintroduction sets a noir aesthetic with shadowy dealings and sharp lyricism.
To celebrate the launch, 100 signed vinyl records will be exclusively available via Amazon. A special event at HVW8 Gallery in Los Angeles on July 19th wil alsol include a photo exhibition, album listening, film screening and a limited apparel capsule.
