Great American State Fair Finds Its New Headliner: Donald Trump

Great American State Fair Finds Its New Headliner: Donald Trump

The Great American State Fair is down at least five performers from its originally announced lineup. But don’t worry, Donald Trump says he has a suitable replacement lined up: himself.

“I understand Artists are getting ‘the yips’ having to do with their performance… so I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World, the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime, and he does so without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists,’ and give a major speech, rallying the Country forward like I have done ever since being President!” wrote Trump in a post to Truth Social on Saturday.

“I don’t want so-called ‘Artists’ that get paid far too much money, who aren’t happy,”  Trump added. “I only want to be surrounded by Happy People, Smart People, Successful People, and People that know how to WIN. So, by copy of this TRUTH, I am ordering my Representatives to look at the feasibility of doing an AMERICA IS BACK Rally on Wednesday, Washington, D.C., same time, same location. Only Great Patriots invited — It will be a Wild and Beautiful Celebration of America!”

Of the acts initially announced to play Trump’s Great American State Fair coinciding with America’s 250th birthday, only Vanilla Ice has officially confirmed his participation. Meanwhile, Milli Vanilli’s Fab Morvan — who did not sing on the group’s studio recordings — is set to appear instead of any of the group’s actual vocalists. C+C Music Factory appear to be having an internal dispute over whether they’ll take the stage, while Flo Rida has yet to weigh in.

Morris Day and The Time, Young MC, The Commodores, Martina McBride, and Bret Michaels have all said they will no longer participate in the event, despite being announced as part of the initial lineup. In their various statements distancing themselves from the fair, the artists offered similar explanations, suggesting they were unaware of the event’s partisan nature at the time of booking, with Young MC referring to it as a “bait-and-switch.”
