‘Halo’ Live-Action Paramount+ Series Receives First Teaser Trailer

‘Halo’ Live-Action Paramount+ Series Receives First Teaser Trailer

During Microsoft‘s 20th anniversary Xbox event on Monday, Paramount+ shared the first, brief teaser trailer for the long-awaited live-action Halo TV series.

The short visual offers a few close-ups of Master Chief (Pablo Schrieber) suiting up in Mjolnir armor, before the AI Cortana greets him, saying, “Hello, Master Chief.”

Natascha McElhone will play Dr. Catherine Halsey, and Jen Taylor will reprise her role as Cortana, who is coined as the most advanced AI in history. Elsewhere, Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac, Kate Kennedy, Danny Sapani, Olive Gray and Charlie Murphy also star.

The Halo series is being produced by Showtime and the video game’s developer 343 Industries. David Nevins, Chief Creative Officer at Showtime Networks, previously commented on the series, stating, “It delivers the visceral excitement of playing the game, along with a much deeper emotional experience around the Spartans, human beings who got their humanity chemically and genetically altered. The story is about reclaiming what makes them human, and therefore it’s a very powerful story.”

The popular game has already received several live-action adaptations, including Halo: LandfallHalo 4: Forward Unto Dawn and Halo: Nightfall, though Paramount+’s Halo appears to be the most ambitious take on the franchise to-date.

The series is expected to premiere on Paramount+ in 2022. Watch the teaser above.

In case you missed it, Adult Swim and Studio DEEN have delivered a Rick and Morty short titled “Samurai & Shogun Part 2.”
