
HBO Max is raising its subscription prices.
The Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service — which recently re-added the “HBO” to its brand — announced on Tuesday, October 21st, that the prices for all three HBO Max subscription tiers will be hiked.
The basic ad-supported tier will increase its cost by $1 per month, bringing the total cost to $10.99 per month. The standard ad-free tier will up its price point by $1.50 per month, bringing it to $18.49 per month total. Finally, the premium tier price will be increased by $2 per month, bring the monthly cost to $22.99.
The pricing for annual plans will also increase by $10, $15, and $20 respectively. The new price hike will go into effect immediately, with current subscribers receiving 30 days notice until the subscription cost increases at or after November 20th.

News of HBO Max’s price increase came as its parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, announced on Tuesday that it would put itself up for sale after receiving “unsolicited interest” from “multiple parties for both the entire company and Warner Bros.” alone. Paramount Skydance is reportedly one of the bidders.
