The ultimate bloody showdown is officially on the horizon. Prime Video has released the full trailer for the fifth and final season of The Boys, giving fans a diabolical look at the impending apocalypse. Promising to go out with an ultraviolent, darkly comedic bang, the hit satirical superhero series is preparing to close its doors with its highest-stakes, most devastating chapter yet.

Picking up immediately where the dramatic Season 4 finale left off, the new footage reveals a world firmly under Homelander’s (Antony Starr) dictatorial control. Sitting comfortably in the Oval Office, the megalomaniacal Supe has a terrifying new endgame: acquiring “V1,” the original iteration of Compound V, to make himself truly immortal. To achieve his godlike ascension, Homelander awakens his father, Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), from cryo-sleep, setting the stage for a brutal global takeover.

Meanwhile, the titular vigilante team is scattered and desperate. With Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), and Frenchie (Tomer Capone) locked away in a Vought-run “Freedom Camp,” Annie/Starlight (Erin Moriarty) and a newly defected A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) are left struggling to mount a resistance. However, their biggest wild card remains Billy Butcher (Karl Urban). Armed with horrifying tendril superpowers and a deadly, world-altering virus, Butcher is ready to cross the ultimate moral line to wipe every Supe off the face of the earth, no matter the collateral damage.

Beyond the apocalyptic plot, the trailer also teases some major crossover and reunion moments. Key characters from the college spin-off Gen V are seen joining the resistance, while showrunner Eric Kripke officially brings his long-awaited Supernatural reunion to life, adding Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins to the chaos alongside Ackles.

With showrunners and cast members promising shocking fatalities right out of the gate, no one in the Vought universe is truly safe. The Boys Season 5 will officially debut its first two episodes on Prime Video on April 8, 2026, culminating in an epic series finale on May 20.
