Hot Chip have announced their first greatest hits album. Joy In Repetition is out September 5th via Domino Records. Today, the band has shared “Devotion,” a new track, plus detailed three fall concerts to celebrate the album’s release.
Joy In Repetition is named after the lyrics in their song “Over and Over,” plus one of Alexis Taylor’s favorite Prince songs. “There’s joy in doing something again and again,” Taylor said in a press statement. “That’s true of rhythms, of grooves and of making records together for 20 years. We’re still doing it. We still love doing it.”
Taylor describes new song “Devotion” as “a celebration of the devotion to doing this project together… I think of [bandmate] Joe [Godard] as being like Brian Wilson, with this huge dedication to finding how to make the most amazing pop music.”

Hot Chip will also play three shows to celebrate Joy In Repetition later this September, in London, New York, and Los Angeles. Hot Chip will also play a handful of DJ sets at European and UK festivals this summer, and tickets are available now (get tickets here).
Hot Chip released their eighth album Freakout/Release in 2022 via Domino. Last year, the band reissued their debut album as Coming On Strongerer for its 20th anniversary.
