Instagram Finally Has a Dedicated iPad App After 15 Years

Instagram Finally Has a Dedicated iPad App After 15 Years

15 years after launching on iOS, Instagram has finally released a dedicated iPad app. The Meta-owned company announced in a blog post that users will be able to download the app, built from the ground up for the Apple tablet, beginning today, September 3rd.

The new app’s UI is quite different from its iPhone and Android counterparts, opening directly into a feed of Instagram’s TikTok competitor, Reels. You can still find Stories up top.

There’s also a “Following” tab with three separate feeds. “All” includes recommended posts and reels from all the accounts you follow, while “Friends” only contains content from accounts that follow you back. Finally, the “Latest” section is a chronological feed of posts and reels from all the accounts you follow.
