J. Balvin Claims He Almost Had a Heart Attack Because of Seven-Hour Concert

J Balvin claims he nearly suffered a “heart attack” while performing a seven-hour concert in Colombia in late November.

The reggaeton superstar discussed how taxing the Medellín show was during a livestream with popular streamer Ibai, adding that he’s “still recovering.”

“Normally, we go through moments as artists where you want to do concerts for your ego, but in this case, I focused on giving the people a show,” said Balvin in an interview. “At one point [of] the concert, I started to feel like I couldn’t see anymore. I mean, you’re in the middle of a 360 stage, and I was only seeing everything as black, and I was talking through the intercom.”

Balvin continued on, explaining that he ended up getting dizzy and cold. When a doctor eventually checked his pulse, Balvin claimed it was 190 beats per minute. For context, the typical resting heart rate for adults is between 60 and 100 beats per minute.

In an effort to feel better, Balvin said he ate six frozen desserts, sending his insulin levels soaring.

According to setlist.fm, the November 29th concert ran until 3:00 a.m. local time and saw Balvin perform nearly 80 songs. He was joined by the likes of Daddy Yankee, Maluma, 50 Cent, DJ Snake, Reykon, and others.

Now that his 2025 tour is behind, Balvin has time to chill and recoup. His North American trek, in support of his latest album Rayo, kicked off in March in Atlanta and wrapped up in Portland in May.
