John Candy Documentary Trailer Explores His Private Struggles

Prime Video has released the trailer for its upcoming John Candy documentary, John Candy: I Like Me, ahead of its global October 10th premiere on the streamer. Watch it below.

The trailer tells the late comedic actor’s story through interviews with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Steve Martin, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, and more, interspersed with never-before-seen archival interviews, footage, and photos.

“I’ve made winning my whole life,” Candy says in the clip. “And when you make winning your whole life, you have to keep on winning.”

Candy’s son, Chris Candy, adds, “If you go a whole lifetime eating your feelings, drinking your feelings, smoking your nerves, it shows up.”

John Candy: I Like Me comes from director Colin Hanks, who co-produced the documentary with Ryan Reynolds. It will screen during the opening night of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival later today, September 4th.
