Jonny Greenwood has released his original score for the new Paul Thomas Anderson movie One Battle After Another. Stream it below.
One Battle After Another stars Leonardo DiCaprio as an ex-revolutionary whose teenage daughter (Chase Infiniti) becomes a target for a deranged military commander (Sean Penn). That’s the short version, at least, as Anderson has crafted a shockingly relevant and very funny action epic for our times. Greenwood’s accompanying piano-driven score is often understated, except when using strings and drums to escalate the unsettling tension.
Greenwood has been Anderson’s go-to composer since 2007’s There Will Be Blood, also crafting the music for The Master, Licorice Pizza, Phantom Thread, and Inherent Vice. It’s a collaboration that’s led to at least one Oscar nomination for the Radiohead guitarist — and potentially more, if Anderson’s new movie proves to be an awards season player this year.

Despite saying last year that Radiohead had no plans to tour in 2025, Greenwood will be reuniting with the band beginning this November for shows in Europe and the UK (get tickets here).
