California Governor Gavin Newsom’s current MAGA-baiting social media strategy has ensnared Kid Rock in its hysterical net.
Recently, Newsom’s press office account has taken to using an all-caps trolling approach, aping Donald Trump’s posting style on Truth Social. Over the weekend, it posted a tweet featuring a clearly AI-generated image of right-wing rocker and hardcore Trump fan Kid Rock expressing his support for the governor.
Newsom’s tweet, which features an image of Kid Rock dressed as Uncle Sam with the caption, “Kid Rock Wants YOU to Support Gavin Newsom,” and a post accepting the endorsement from Newsom’s personal account, was apparently a bridge too far for Rock.

In a post responding to the troll, Kid Rock retweeted the image with a caption of his own: “The only support Gavin Newscum will ever get out of me is from DEEZ NUTZ,” pulling out one of Donald Trump’s favorite nicknames for Governor Newsom.
This string of tweets closely mirrors a Trump post from during his campaign last year, when he happily shared similar AI images of Taylor Swift as Uncle Sam with the caption, “I accept!” Trump pleaded ignorance about the fake images, and Swift later drew his ire by staunchly backing Kamala Harris in the last presidential election.
Newsom turned up the parody with another tweet, which simply says “I HATE KID ROCK,” closely aping a Trump Truth Social post from last year, which read, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT.”
