Madonna made her return to standup comedy in New York City over the weekend, reports The Sun.
The Queen of Pop stopped by the Comedy Cellar on Saturday night thanks to an invitation from her buddy Amy Schumer, performing a full 30-minute set at the iconic club. According to the tabloid, it was a bit of a rough night for Madonna.
“She did well enough, but the audience was so stunned it was Madonna that it took them the entire set to warm up to her,” a source told The Sun. “She didn’t do as well as you’d think she would, she got laughs every time she dropped F-bomb, because just hearing Madonna curse is funny.”

Apparently, the highlight of Madonna’s set was a joke about not having “any staff left” if Trump continued his mass deportations. Yikes.
This wasn’t Madonna’s first go at standup comedy or even her first time at the Comedy Cellar. In 2016, she opened for Schumer at Madison Square Garden, offering blowjobs to get out the vote for Hillary Clinton. The following year, the singer made her standup debut at the Comedy Cellar — also at the behest of Schumer.
On a more serious note, Madonna called out the Trump administration on social media earlier this week. “It’s so sad to watch our new Government slowly dismantling all the Freedoms we have been fighting for and WON over the year,” she wrote alongside a Pride flag and broken heart emojis. “Don’t give up the Fight!”
