MAPPA Confirms Production for ‘Chainsaw Man – Assassins Arc’

Summary

  • MAPPA confirmed production for Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc at Jump Festa 2026
  • It follows the Reze Arc film, introducing global mercenaries like Quanxi and Santa Claus
  • The format remains unconfirmed, but production continues with the studio’s signature cinematic flair

At Jump Festa 2026, MAPPA officially confirmed that the Chainsaw Man anime will continue with the highly anticipated “Assassins Arc” (also known as the “Shikaku” Arc). Widely regarded as the manga’s most unhinged and chaotic installment, this arc serves as a direct sequel to Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc.

MAPPA returns to handle production, promising the same visceral action and cinematic flair that defined the first season and the theatrical film. While a new teaser visual and promotional video were unveiled at the event, the studio has not yet confirmed whether this installment will be a television season or another cinematic release, though early reports and industry speculation point toward a television sequel. Regardless of the final format, the project is currently in production and is expected to anchor the franchise’s global presence in the near future.
