Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, bringing a host of opulent upgrades and tech advancements to its flagship sedan. The most celebrated news for purists is the survival of the V-12 engine. The top-tier S680 continues to house the revered 6.0-liter twin-turbo V-12, delivering 621 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque with added insulation for an even more refined cabin experience. Meanwhile, the S580 model swaps in a potent new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 equipped with mild-hybrid technology, boosting its output to 530 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque.

The exterior of the new Maybach S-Class commands attention with a 20 percent larger grille that features an illuminated surround and a backlit Maybach wordmark. Detailed touches include rose gold elements inside the headlights and several fresh wheel choices, notably a 20-inch polished silver wheel featuring a ball-bearing mechanism that keeps the central Mercedes star upright while the vehicle is in motion. A sinister new Night Series exterior package is also available, adorned with relentlessly repeating Maybach logos between the wheel spokes. Ride comfort is further optimized by the intelligent AIRMATIC suspension, utilizing car-to-X communication to proactively prepare for potholes detected by vehicles traveling ahead.

Inside, the cabin deepens the signature Maybach cocooning experience, highlighted by the standard MBUX-powered Superscreen. Stretching from A-pillar to A-pillar, the setup encompasses a 14.4-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch passenger display, and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster running on the new MB.OS architecture. Rear-seat passengers are treated to twin 13.1-inch entertainment displays, upgraded comfort controls, and custom center-console cupholders explicitly designed for the optional silver-plated Robbe & Berking champagne flutes. To meet the exact tastes of its elite clientele, the newly expanded Made to Measure personalization program offers over 400 interior colors and 150 exterior paint choices, including Manufaktur Black Sparkling and Manufaktur Verde Silver Magno.

The ultra-luxe cruiser is scheduled to arrive at U.S. dealerships in the second half of 2026.
