Miss Piggy is finally getting her own movie, Jennifer Lawrence revealed on the latest episode of Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers’ Las Culturistas podcast.
Marking the character’s first solo feature since debuting on The Muppet Show in 1976, the film will be co-produced by Lawrence and Emma Stone, with Tony winner Cole Escola (Oh, Mary!) penning the script.
“I don’t know if I can announce this, but I am just going to,” Lawrence told Yang and Rogers. “Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie and Cole is writing it.”

When Lawrence was asked whether she would co-star in the movie alongside longtime friend Stone, she responded, “I think so. We have to… It’s fucked up [that we haven’t done a movie together].”
Lawrence did not share any further details about the Miss Piggy film.
After first appearing in an ABC Herb Alpert television special in 1974, Miss Piggy started on The Muppet Show as a chorus pig before her role expanded to one of the most recognizable characters in the series.
In related news, Disney+ recently ordered a TV special for The Muppet Show produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, featuring guest star Sabrina Carpenter. It’s slated to premiere in 2026 for the series’ 50th anniversary.
