Myrkur, aka Amalie Brunn, has returned with the new song “Touch My Love and Die.”
The epic three-minute ballad blends the varied musical styles Myrkur has dabbled in throughout the years, from atmopsheric black metal to Nordic folk and orchestral music. Described by Brunn as a song into which “heart, soul, blood, and tears” were poured, it was produced alongside Christopher Juul (Heilung) in Winter 2025 and was recorded in Dolby Atmos with a cellist, a girls’ choir, ancient folk instruments, and drums captured with more than 40 microphones.
Meanwhile, “Touch My Love and Die” will serve as Myrkur’s entry into the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix song competition, where it will be performed live on February 14th. The winner of the competition will go to represent Denmark at Eurovision 2026.
Brunn’s last material under her Myrkur moniker was the 2023 releases Spine and Ragnarok, the latter a soundtrack to the production of the same name that was shown at The Royal Danish Theatre. In recent years, Brunn has also worked as a composer for the Netflix series Vikings: Valhalla, and she assisted live performances with King Diamond in 2024, providing vocal accompaniment.
