Natasha Lyonne Announces She's Relapsed: "Recovery Is a Lifelong Process"

Natasha Lyonne has announced that she relapsed after years of being sober.

The Poker Face actress wrote about her experience on X on January 23rd, writing, “Took my relapse public. More to come.” In a follow-up post, she offered support to anyone else going similar circumstances. “Recovery is a lifelong process,” she noted. “Anyone out there struggling, remember you’re not alone. Grateful for love & smart feet. Stay honest, folks. Sick as our secrets. If no one told ya today, I love you.”

“No matter how far down the scales we have gone, we will see how our experience may help another,” she continued. “Keep going, kiddos. Don’t quit before the miracle. Wallpaper your mind with love. Rest is all noise & baloney.”

Lyonne’s struggles with addiction have been documented as far back as 2001, when she was arrested for drunk driving and received methadone treatment for heroin addiction.

In 2012, Lyonne got candid about addiction in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Spiraling into addiction is really, really scary,” she said at the time. “Some things have a very A-to-B scientific effect. Like, alcohol is a depressant. Cocaine is a stimulant. And then: Cocaine plus heroin is bad! That’s the point of my story, that’s the moral.”
