Netflix is expanding its sports comedy lineup with the upcoming release of The Hawk, a new 10-episode television series starring and co-created by Will Ferrell. Unveiled via a brand-new official teaser, the highly anticipated show promises to bring the actor’s signature brash humor to the golf green this coming season.

The series centers on Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, the fictional number-one golfer of 2004 who is now struggling on the back nine of his career. Despite his physical limitations, Hawkins refuses to step away from the sport, aiming to secure one final major victory to complete golf’s coveted Grand Slam. Complicating his historic comeback is his estranged family, including his ex-wife Stacy, played by Molly Shannon, and his son Lance, portrayed by Jimmy Tatro, who has conveniently emerged as the sport’s new golden boy.

Recent promotional footage reveals Ferrell’s character outfitted in a vibrant hot pink golf shirt, a white “Hawk” visor, and curly platinum blonde hair. Alongside Shannon and Tatro, the project features a massive supporting cast that includes Fortune Feimster, Luke Wilson, Chris Parnell, Katelyn Tarver, and David Hornsby. Executive produced by Ferrell alongside industry heavyweights like Rian Johnson and David Gordon Green, the series merges competitive sports drama with relentless, character-driven comedy.

The Hawk drops Summer 2026 via Netflix.
