Paramount Pictures has officially unveiled the first trailer for Scary Movie 6, bringing the beloved horror parody franchise back to the big screen. The highly anticipated project reunites the Wayans brothers — Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen — for the first time in 18 years to pen a new installment, marking the first entry in the comedic series since Scary Movie 5 in 2013.
Serving as a satirical takedown of the last several years of cinema, the trailer wastes no time targeting recent hits like Sinners, Weapons, The Substance, and Netflix’s Wednesday. The footage kicks off with a direct spoof of the Ghostface subway sequence from Scream 6, populating the train with costumed figures including the dancing robot killer M3GAN. Throughout the teaser, the film also takes aim at standout titles such as Get Out, Smile, Terrifier, and Longlegs.
Original franchise stars Anna Faris and Regina Hall are back to take on Ghostface alongside Marlon and Shawn Wayans. The returning cast list also features Lochlyn Monroe, Dave Sheridan, Jon Abrahams, Cheri Oteri, and Chris Elliott. Directed by Michael Tiddes and co-produced by the Wayans brothers and Rick Alvarez alongside Miramax, the film introduces newcomers to the satirical franchise like Damon Wayans Jr., Kim Wayans, and SNL alum Heidi Gardner.
