SEVENTEEN Sub-Unit CxM Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists Chart

SEVENTEEN Sub-Unit CxM Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard's Emerging Artists Chart

Summary

  • SEVENTEEN sub-unit CxM (S.COUPS and MINGYU) debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart
  • Their first EP, Hype Vibes, also reached No. 71 on the Billboard 200 chart
  • CxM is the third SEVENTEEN unit to achieve Billboard success

CxM, the newest sub-unit from K-Pop powerhouse SEVENTEEN, has made a significant debut on the Billboard charts as the No. 1 Emerging Artist with their first EP, CxM: 1st Mini Album’ Hype Vibes.

The duo, composed of SEVENTEEN members S.COUPS and MINGYU, marks the third SEVENTEEN sub-unit to achieve Billboard chart success, following in the footsteps of BSS (Members: DK, HOSHI, SEUNGKWAN) and HxW (Members: HOSHI, WOOZI).

Hype Vibes was initially released digitally on September 29, with its physical release on October 10. The EP launched at an impressive No. 2 on the World Albums chart and No. 71 on the Billboard 200, accumulating 13,000 equivalent album units. Pure album sales constituted nearly all of this total, leading to a No. 5 debut on the Top Album Sales chart.

This successful launch also propelled CxM to the No. 1 spot on the Emerging Artists chart. They are the fifth act to top this list in 2025, after ZEROBASEONE in April, Calum Hood in June, Vulfpeck in July, and Geese in the prior two weeks.

As a perfect symbol of intense modern fandom and cultural evolution, the duo CxM is also featured on one of the covers of our newest Hypebeast Magazine Issue 36, which is now available for purchase on HBX.
