Severance is “a lock” for a fourth season, according to a new report from Deadline about the future of the sci-fi thriller.
While there is potential for further installments beyond Season 4, sources indicate showrunner Dan Erickson and executive producer Ben Stiller currently aren’t interested in a fifth season. However, the duo is reportedly “open” to expanding the Severance universe, with possibilities including a prequel, sequel, or foreign versions.
The news arrives as Apple Studios officially acquires the hit series and its intellectual property from production company Fifth Season, which will remain an executive producer. The move gives Apple full control over the show, which Consequence named one of the best TV shows of 2025.
