The season finale of Netflix‘s Stranger Things could have earned up to $30 million USD over its New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day showings.

As per Deadlinethe show’s finale overthrows KPop Demon Hunters’ $19 million USD total from its two-day theatrical run in August 2025. Of Stranger Things: The Finale’s $25 million USD to $30 million USD earnings, $15 million USD comes from AMC Theaters, which welcomed 753,000 moviegoers.

Deadline adds that due to the cast’s contractual agreements regarding residuals, theaters were not allowed to sell regular tickets. Instead, attendees were able to reserve seats via concession vouchers that included food and drinks. The Hollywood Reporter notes that the “tickets” were priced at $20 USD at AMC and Cinemark Theatres, while Regal Cinemas and other theaters paid homage to Millie Bobby Brown’s character and priced the tickets at $11 USD.
