ADE Launches New Arts & Culture Program

With plans to return in full force this fall, the organizers of the iconic Amsterdam Dance Event have launched a new Arts & Culture program for the five-day summit. Scheduled for October 13-17, the conference will now feature a series of exhibitions, special performances, art installations, documentaries, and more to explore the nexus between clubs and culture. According to a press release issued to announce the program, the first confirmed Arts & Culture collabs include an artist residency showcase by Nxt Museum and ADE on the summit’s opening night, a series of “spiritual healing experiences for ravers” by award-winning director and designer Nelly Ben Hayoun, and an intimate performance by pianist Helena Basilova. Industry insiders and electronic music fans, rejoice: Amsterdam Dance Event will officially take place in person this year as it celebrates its 25th anniversary edition. Thanks to the unrelenting wrath of COVID-19, the road to ADE 2020 has been a rocky one. After cancelling the in-person iteration due to the impact of the virus and announcing a virtual edition, the organizers of the prestigious electronic music conference have unveiled the programming schedule for the brand’s first-ever digital event. ADE Announces New “COVID-Proof Seated Concerts” in Amsterdam

After the cancellation of the 2020 iteration of Amsterdam Dance Event, a virtual event was announced, following suit with many other major 2020 events throttled by the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, after working in close collaboration with the Amsterdam City Council, ADE has curated new 2020 events under the ADE Specials banner.  In an official statement, ADE confirmed that new events will be held throughout Amsterdam, which will comply with public safety guidelines put forth by the government. “The ADE team has worked hard to be able to deliver the best possible ADE experience while ensuring public health and government guidelines,” the statement says. “In doing so, we have collaborated closely with the city council and the city’s venues to host ...

After rampant speculation regarding the future of iconic dance music convention Amsterdam Dance Event, organizers have announced a virtual edition. Could Amsterdam Dance Event 2020 Potentially Still Happen?

COVID-19 has put global festivals, conferences, and major gatherings on ice, and until a vaccine or effective treatment hits the market, it is difficult to imagine most large-scale events taking place.  However, attention is now turning to Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), which is currently still on the books for 2020. The 25th edition of the event is currently scheduled for late October. At the moment, major events in the Netherlands have been banned until September 1st, and subsequent guidelines for events taking place after that date have yet to be issued.  Despite the many hurdles ahead, ADE organizers have not yet cancelled their 2020 event, but they are closely monitoring government regulations.
