A former Association for Electronic Music (AFEM) manager has launched a coaching service for those in music who have or may have ADHD. Tristan Hunt recently stepped down from his position as the regional manager at AFEM to launch the new service after struggling with ADHD himself. Association For Electronic Music Appoints First Female CEO, Silvia Montello
In a landmark moment for the dance music industry, Silvia Montello has been named the new CEO of the Association For Electronic Music (AFEM). Montello will replace Greg Marshall, who has served as CEO over the last four years. Notably, she will be the first female CEO to lead the non-profit organization, which includes 250 members hailing from over 25 unique countries. Beatport Publishes Report Exploring Mental Health and Electronic Music Culture
A new report exploring the correlation between mental health and the culture of electronic music has been published by Beatport. In collaboration with AFEM, Arigami, Silentmode, and How Mental, Beatport surveyed over 140 artists from around the globe to share their stories in the report, titled “Music Connects Us.” Together, they covered communication and outreach methods, and strategies for changing one’s mindset and controlling emotions. The Association For Electronic Music’s legislature has been signed by over 220 brands and organizations. The Association for Electronic Music (AFEM) is described as “a global voice for the electronic music industry, representing our community, culture and commerce.” The Association’s latest endeavor is the launch of a “Code of Conduct Against Sexual Harassment and Gender Discrimination,” which has been in the works over the past few months.
